As far as I know, dealers hate warranty work as they are only allowed to claem a certain amount of time to do each repair, set by the manufacturer. They only get the parts at cost too. You'd think Renault dealers would like it more than most though as it must make up 90% of their workload :D...

Yep, temperature sender. Took Renault 3 goes to fix mine even when I took in a printout of the fault from here as they "couldn't get the intermittent fault to happen from them". Pray your traction control doesn't go t!ts up, they never fixed mine even after a full diagnosis and part number...

I sold my 182 in Feb but fancy a 197 F1. The only stumbling block is the shoddy dealers and incompetent service departments. Has that improved in the last 6 months? I'm in Cheshire and so have had the dubious pleasure of using the Altrincham and Warrington dealers in the past. Steve

I sold my 05 reg Cup to a dealer in Feb for £8500 (and I got £120 road fund rebate). As I bought it in June 2005 for £10500, i was quite pleased that it only lost £2k in the two years I had it. Steve

A Renault dealer paid me £8500 for my 05 plate Cup with 21k miles. I also kept the tax which I received a £120 rebate on. He subsequently sold the car for £9750! Steve

Why not get an older MX-5 for £4-5k. That would be proper RWD fun and as you have a practical car, a small 2 seater would not be an issue and so you wouldn't need a hatchback. Steve

LOL! The offset is 48.5mm! So I was being lambasted for stating they were 48mm! 172 Alloy Offset 0.5mm is about the thickness of a good rust flake on the hub. Steve
