+1 for that happening to me too. Only had the car a month and did a track day. An hour in and it dropped a valve. When Mike @Rentech swapped out the engine for me, he showed me the broken one. It wasn't opened up but you could see the valve head missing and loads of swarf coming out of the...
I do a lot of shift work so drive on unlit rural roads a lot and have found the standard high beam to be just fine. My xenons on this 182 were poor until I used a 3M headlight restoration kit in them. The cloudiness really affects the light output.
I got these metal pressed ones for my Dad's car. Really pleased with how they turned out.

Got fed up with my Connects2 iPod adaptor repeatedly becoming disconnected behind the dash and not being able to change tracks, so I pulled out the head unit and cable tied the connector to the Connects2 box. Hopefully that'll be the last time I have any problems with it.
I had the RS2 and RS3 on my old Focus. I thought the 2s were fantastic in the wet but strangely wafty in the dry. The big downside was the noise as they wear down. Sounded like a wheel bearing had gone! The 3s are better in every respect. Much better with noise, but only marginally better in the...
Would anyone be able to measure the length of the Velcro strap in the boot of a 182 (the one that holds the toolkit/jack) and let me know as mine has gone missing and I'd like to replace it. Thanks :)
Mine had been disconnected by the previous owner. What they had done (I'm led to believe that this is the correct way to do it) was to take each pipe that goes to the headlight washers and connect them together using one of the pipe connectors behind the bumper. This way, the pump still works...
Finally got my 182 back from the bodyshop after it got written off. I bought it back and got it repaired with the payout. Great to back in the old girl. Strangely, the boot carpet now doesn't fit, as it looks to small???
Thanks for the tips. Yes £500 seems likely for it as it is, which is a shame but I don't have the time/space/facilities to strip it. Your payout seemed better than mine. My 182 was valued at £1910, minus £230 (12%) for the salvage. If I sell for £500 and buy another £2k car it's pretty much the...
My Clio was sadly written off last month, after having the engine (and belts) replaced, along with new discs and pads all round. It's a 2005 titanium silver 182 with 102500 miles on the clock. It suffered rear end damage which has folded the boot floor. I bought the car back as a Cat C with the...
Finally got the Clio back from the insurers, only to find fresh damage to the front! Took the car to the body shop to have the rear end damage (boot floor) sorted.
Bought my car back from my insurance company the other day after it was declared a cat c write after being rear-ended. Only problem is the insurers took it to Canvey Island and I'm in Basingstoke. Now they're being difficult about getting it delivered back to me.
Same happened to my 182 last month. Minor rear end shunt and a creased boot floor. Just been told it's nearly £3000 in repairs and labour, so cat c write off. Still needs to be assessed by my insurers but the end result won't change. I've poured so much money into it recently for no return...
I did this two weeks ago on my 182. There is a guide on here somewhere that shows how to remove the bumper. Essentially, there is a torx screw in each wheel arch, and a bolt at the top of the bumper where it meets the wheel arch. There are two clips on the top of the grille that must come off...
Clio got taken away on a tow truck and a Mercedes A180 CDI left in its place. Just hoping it doesn't get written off. At least a new rear crash bar and possibly a new boot floor if it can't be flattened out.
Took my car to the Wheel Alignment Centre in Southampton. Two degrees out and pulling left. All sorted now. Headlight washer jets replaced too as the previous owner had blocked them off.
