That's the St Gwynno stage and was 8.5miles long that year....in 6min34:eek:
With driving like that you'd think he'd win the stage by miles, but the crazy thing is though is that the top 4 through the stage were covered by only 5secs!!
Big, big balls!
Some good pics there.....did you get any pics of car 90 (red evo9)?
Our rally was cut short when a car pulled into us as we were leaving the service area on the way to the first stage on saturday morning
i spent all day in hospital after being stretchered off for x-rays on my neck...
was a really great show.
i was in the red evo9 (car 4 on saturday, car 9 sunday). we seemed to spend more time on the grass than the tarmac, but really enjoyed it.
The car came back with a few dings from various bales and bollards, and we even had to change the fuel cell after splitting...
Here's mine....
Running on a 2litre vauxhall red top with twin 48 webers, quaife 4spd dogbox, 5 linked and adjustable bilsteins front and back.
Not quite like Mr McRae's but it'll do for me!:)
Brilliant cars! Finally got myself a Mk2 last year after rallying a couple of pugs and a few 4wds for several seasons and never had so much fun!:D
Would love a Mk1 but they're even more expensive!:(
Looking forward to the rally now, went testing with subaru on sunday then with skoda and omv peugeot on monday. My younger brother's competing in it so i'm off to shakedown tomorrow then speccying/servicing on friday, saturday and sunday.
Gonna be a knackering weekend!
Nowt special, nowhere near as fast or as good to watch as the mk1 and mk2 escorts.
I used to run an ex 306-challenge car, now got mk2 escort and having loads more fun than boring FWD!
Nice pics gary, no doubt will see you at either the subaru or skoda tests this weekend ready for rally GB!
My brother's in the process of trying to hire a skoda octavia wrc for a rally later on in the year - best quote of insurance so far (for one day) is £3,400 with a £24,000 excess. Makes the veyron's insurance seem pretty reasonable!
