Recently when I turn the ignition a massive clunk seems to come from the rear passenger side of the vehicle just as it starts. Wouldnt have thought there was much back there to cause this noise when car is stationery. Any thoughts? Cheers

Ive just noticed the same problem with my clio 1.2. I only have the original suspension so I dont know what it is. I havent put my car on the jack yet but when I grab the wheel I can feel a small amount of play, checked the bolts are tight and it seems fine.

Just noticed a clunking noise when I go over a speed bump coming from the front drivers side. Wasnt there before. Anyone had a similar problem?? Thanks in advance

In case anyone searches and finds this thread with the same problem I disconnected the battery -ve lead for an hour then reconnected it and it solved the problem.

Anyone got any ideas? Im really struggling.. Thanks

If I disconnected the battery to try and reset the CPU do you think that might help?

It is the one with the coil and the zig zag. I looked up the book and it says electrical fault light. Anyone got any ideas? I read on another thread it could be to do with the CPU loosing is power supply but I have ran the can for about 300 miles and it is still on.

Update - ive just went out and checked and the oil is below min on the dip stick and there is a small drip of oil on the drive way. Does it sound like the head?

Hi, I've recently noticed when I start my car cold it makes quite a noticable gurgling sound coming from the engine. Also when driving it about cold sounds like there is loads of water sloshing about somewhere. When it heats up seems to be fine. Any thoughts? Mike

Does the 12 months start when the vehicle is first registered or when we took ownership. The car is an 06/56 plate but we didnt take ownership until Feb 07. Although it was regsietered in 06 to is it is still less than 12 months old.

Got it fixed - turned out to be a dodgy bulb - there was a short between both elements.. Changed the bulb - everything now fine. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the response Yeah the bulb is defo the same rating. When you reffer to a "bad earth" do you mean the +ve is grounding to earth or the -ve is not? I would have thought when the +ve is grounding to earth you would be blowing fuses - not causing other lights to light up. Car...

I have the same problem a year or so ago - dont know about the immobiliser but with the leaky aerial nut take the nut off remove the aerial and smear the underside of the aerial where it sits on the roof with vaseline. This gives a good water tight seal,

might be a bulb that is out. Best thing to do is take it apart if you can and check the voltage you are getting at the bulb holder using a multimeter or just change the bulb. i think there are 2 tox screws into the bottom of the centre console which you remove then the whole thing slides out.
