Lovely to see this go on. Havent seen Steve for a few years now, when you next see him, let him know I hope he's doing well.
As for the trophy, for years we went back and forth about the build on this car, the trials and tribulations of building something nobody else had attempted. A really...
I havent looked in this thread for years, I genuinely cant believe how unlucky you've been with poor workmanship and putting faith in the wrong people.
I'm glad to see the car is getting back on track and you can actually enjoy it.
A couple of my mates were talking to you today up at Revolution, they own their own detailing shop. They mentioned to me they saw a red v6 on coilovers and I knew immediately it was this.
Still looking Great Colin :)
I enjoyed the meet, I had a good poke around your S1 Jim and I've got to say the hype about it being so clean isn't just forum bullshit, it genuinely is a very good clean s1 :)
I took my cup down, it was good fun on the way, we took the helmsley route there and back, then onto tan hill for...
Really like it actually, coming from a trophy purist etc.
It's all well and good people dictating to you how they think it should look but they didnt buy it at the end of the day, that gives you the right to do whatever you like to it, the comp2's really suit it.
Thanks for the reply Andy.
I just know how disheartening it is when things don't go quite the way you want them to, I've not went to the extent of your builds and quite glad I haven't I've just had a trophy that liked to eat engines for fun. They're a very special car in their own right and...
Andy I really get the feeling you're prepping yourself to throw more money at this in the form of boost and giving it one last go. As cool as it will be I think if you are considering ploughing more money into this (more than a standard engine and ecu will cost) then you want your head looking...
Gutting to hear Andy, I would've just put a standard engine in it the last time and saved the expense but that's easy to say now.
Hopefully you'll see sense, stick a standard engine in it, give it some abuse over the summer then move on and buy a v6
Alright chaps, I've got myself a clio 172 cup and wouldn't mind attending 1 or 2 meets. It's been a few years and would be nice to meet up with some members.
Is there much going on?
Nice to see some help being offered mate, I only ever come back on here to see what is happening with the old pink shed, one day I will log in and there will be no known issues at all and everything will be good in trophy land :)
Looks to be a clean example jim, how does it drive compared to a normal 16v? I bet the front tyres scream for forgiveness when the boost comes on
Also, please remove the wind deflectors, nothing screams chav more than a saxo/corsa etc with wind deflectors
I also like the front headlights...
I like this mate looks good, how do you find it with having kids etc? I've just had a little one and think a nice rb182 or trophy would sit nicely on my drive amongst my other toys.
Also have you any idea where the itb cup is these days?
Sorry to hear you're having a rough time of it still after all this time and money spent. Hopefully one day everything will be running perfect and you'll be able to relax a little.
Re: The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy [& Fred's V6]
Finally I only ever log on here to see how this car is getting on and I'm really glad it's up and running and fairly healthy.
Looking good, glad that exhaust has gone it looked terrible.
Would love to see this car again as would my brother, it's the longest he's ever kept a car and I think the previous owners of it would probably understand why, its absolutely awesome.
Mate this thing sounds like a right pile, I've never experienced these issues with any of my rallyes/gti's/vts's.
Sounds like it needs someone to go through it all properly checking everything over and replacing worn out/bodged parts.
Depends whether you intend to keep it or flog it on though
