Hmmm.... so what are the downsides of a smaller wheel?
Is it more steering effort (a lot of my daily driving is in town)? Does it block your view of the instruments?
Finding it very hard to find places with these on display to go and look/try. Even Demon Tweeks only had some of the range on...
Undecided on which size to go for? Can anyone with experience or either share their views?
Is 320mm too small?
Do the indicator/wiper stalks stick out too far from a 320mm?
Is a 350mm worth the reduction from the standard 380mm?
I don't want anything too radical or chavtastically small, just a...
This is tomorrow, Sunday, isn't it?
Middleton to Alston is a memorable 15 mile stretch too, as are the sections over the moors between Blanchland abd Barnard Castle.
I'm a member of the Lotus 7 Club and knew they were also planning trip. I wondered if every car club in the country was going to be there!
Hope those pulled got away ok - did you get a fine?
This is the danger of publicising these trips on the web - plod do browse websites like these. Far...
It is, and the beginning of a BH weekend. You'd be better off avoiding the main routes like the A5, A4212 & A494 as much as possible. They're not that much fun anyway even at quiet times.
I'd advise continuing north from Ponderosa and taking the B5105 from Ruthin to get to the triangle, a...
If you're getting held up by them, you need to have a word with yourself. Or double-check what's under that bonnet.... ;)
What's this 'big run' gonna entail then?
Ponderosa bikers cafe on the Horseshoe Pass north of Llangollen is a good meeting point when coming from our neck of the woods. Large parking area and a proper breakfast!
Wouldn't mind doing this with some Clios but I think I'm working that day :( Went two weeks ago with a mate in an Evo and saw a whole posse of Mini Coopers doing a run.
Only comment I have on the route is that you're sticking to some pretty bland A roads and missing some crackers out. The A5...
I read what you put. I'm not sure what depth the wear indicators are at, but since the recommended point for change is generally accepted as being 3m, after which performance - particularly in the wet - deteriorates, you're probably not far off needing replacements.
On 'normal' cars, I'd expect...
Now you see, i don't consider 8k miles for a set of tyres as "wearing well". It's probably about what i get out of mine but that's the price i choose to pay for a soft compound and an enthusiastic driving style!
Proper 4-wheel alignment at a reputable place using the proper Hunter equipment should cost around £70-£100 on top of that. That's for assessment and any adjustment required.
Krap-Fit will do it for less but badly - not worth it IMO.
Mine came with Nankangs on - I quickly discovered why they are known as 'ditch-finders'.......
They were s**te, and the bad news was that they lasted for ages! :clown:
Mine's booked in tomorrow for some Prolines for the cost of an hour's labour......
As above, in an ideal world you would get the tracking done, let it settle then go back for adjustment.
This again. Fairly soft compound so grip is fantastic but they do wear quite quickly as a result with spirited driving. Excellent in the wet too and at £150 for a pair fitted they're good value.
And they look cool  :D
Eibach Pro-Kit ordered late on Monday from Motorsportworld - turned up at 8am this morning. Top service, £146 delivered.
Going for fitting tomorrow morning :)
Feedback to follow.....
