  Whichever has fuel
I spent a really good evening on the valver tonight. Fitted new seats, new belts, ph2 boot strip, raised the suspension up an inch, altered the camber to something sensible, charged the battery and put it all back together. Lovely. Took it for a nice 30 mile (ish) drive and was very very proud of my effort, listening to a bit 'Twins' on my new CD player too....

I get home, park it on the drive and I can hear water running. Thinking its the neighbours pond I walk away and just as I get to the gate, I smell petrol!!

Yep, the fuel tank has a nice 4 inch crack in it and my half a tank of fuel is now all over the gravel.

FFS.

I hate clios as well. Spent over an hour trying to put a xenon headlight back together again tonight. Who the f*ck came up with that design?!

Yeah know that feeling so well,

My 205 sat unloved in my garage for over a year just because I couldn't be arsed to fit a new fuel pump... finally did and it starts first time everytime now just to p!ss me off

One day i'll decide to do something with it and it will break again

Glad to hear your starting to enjoy the Valver again after the mishaps with possible timing belt etc, bit of a s**tter about fuel tank though.

Be nice to see your neighbours faces when they smell the petrol and i wander if they'll say anything.

Lol

You'll need to get pics up.

1. That car of yours never EVER went wrong in my posession. You and james are the ones that fubar'd it!

b) I would have built it from scratch had I had the space i've got now. Hindsight and all that I suppose. :(

You can't blame me, I've shown it nothing but love!

When it returns from FCS it'll be getting some good treatment, new brakes all round, front tyres, pc'd, all sorts!

Drives like a dream now apart from the slow speed braking clunk, which I think is balljoint or something?

We haven't seen any pics of the mk1 in a long time Daniel...

I love you really. You and your strange dress sense....

As for pics, I may take some today. Or I may push it onto the railway line ready for the coal train to show it whos boss. I've not decided yet. It all depends if whatever fuel is left in it gets me to work tbh....

I wasn't aware it was something that could fail, FLOL! (and I'm not even sure if its that yet) but what happens if it does?

I'll take MikeB (mechanic) out for a spin in it and let him give me his opinion/have a look.

It's only a minor "clunk" its just annoying...

ffs somthing else to do now lol
at least its only a few bolts and its pretty easy to change...

put a 1.4 tank in there and do away with the small back up tank, that will save you some weight too :)

Stop giving up so easy, 99% of Mk1s are like it ;)

Who said anything about giving up??

As a side note, I put a jerry can in it at home and drove as fast as I could to work (its only about 2 miles away) and no leaks. At all.

This things worse than christine! lol.
