I've been diagnosing an annoying drive belt squeal that I've had for the past week and I've noticed that my lower alternator bolt is missing completely!? I'm guessing it's worked loose and just dropped out at some point.
As a result the alternator isn't as secure as it should be and the drive...
I have an issue with the windows steaming up. It seems to happen only when the AC is turned off (always set to Auto). Pressing the demist button clears the screen almost instantly, and I have to keep cycling between the two modes.
I noticed it originally in the summer. If I had been out in the...
Just a quick query about the stock head unit in my 172.
Is there any way I can tap a 3.5mm jack into it somewhere to connect an MP3 player? I have the CD changer under the passenger seat but am unsure how the audio is sent from there to head unit, I had a rough idea about mounting a 3.5mm plug...
Did all 1*2's come fitted with a cover over the fuel rail? If they did then mine has been removed and not replaced at some point.
My next question is what potential damage could be caused by not having one fitted? I will try and source one if it's vulnerable to debris coming through the grille etc.
Hand cleaned/polished with assorted Autoglym products. Factory standard w/ 125000 miles

I'm about to collect a replacement ball joint for my 172 from GSF.
Would someone be able to tell me what the torque settings are for the 3 bolts on the ball joint and the wheel nuts please.
Thank You in advance.
Ash.
Haha, he gave me a list of all the stuck on tat that helped him get this amazing power.
Eco-tek valve (which does nothing as far as i'm aware)
Boost valve (what this does on a N/A engine i have no idea)
Superchip (so it overfuels now, good for a bit of bore wash)
I'm sure theres more items...
I know someone who owns one of these, and i'm guessing he is talking 100% rubbish.
It's the old shape one and he reckons its pushing out a good 170bhp AT THE WHEELS?
Thought i would quickly ask the people that know what there on about, and what would it take to get that kind of power, if at...
New badges, theres a number of bits left to put on like the rubber strips along the skirts etc. The paint is dry, but still a little bit 'soft' if you understand so i want to leave it alone for a bit.
The 5 is finally finished, makes a change waxing the bodywork rather then sanding it down.
Painted in Racing Blue like the 182's. Quite a difficult colour to capture or maybe i need more i set the camera up wrong because it looks slightly purple. Theres a lad with a Racing Blue 182 in the next...
Check the switch and wiring on the handbrake, on my old Clio it was really sticky and did random things. Might just need the contacts cleaning out on the inside.
They are fragile i'll admit, but if kept standard and well maintained they are pretty much bomb proof. I've covered over 13'000 miles in mine and spent nothing on the engine apart from serviceables.
I think the problem starts when you try to get big BHP out of them, at the end of the day its...
I drive a R5 GT-Turbo, you can imagine the kind of attention i get from "youths". All i want to do is get to work and back, leave me alone you little shites!
Owned the following.
'E' Fiesta MK2 950cc (Indestructable)
'W' Renault Clio 1.2 MTV (Nice to have modern car, performance disapointing on par with the Fiesta! Rattled a lot)
'G' Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6 (Most fun, still have it now)
'G' Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 (More fun, but was a complete dog!)
'H'...
Nice one, i came across a PDF file when i ran a quick search on the site but for some reason the restrictions on the works computer wont let me look at it.
