My car won't start, engine doesn't turn when i turn the key but the display lights come on. However the lights on the dash stay on even without the key! New battery a month ago too. I drove it this morning fine. Anyone??????????

Tried to start my car and when you put the key in and turn the usual display lights come on but upon turning the key to start all the lights go out and the electric goes off as if the battery suddenly dies. So it won't start at all, engine won't even begin to turn... Is this a battery problem...

I have a Clio 172 phase 1. Now the cigerette lighter will fire-up as in light and fire up a cig however it doesn't power my satnav, the inside of the socket does look a little rusty. Any ideas on the fix or would i replace the socket and is it difficult? Thanks in advance.
