Hi,
I'm having troubles with my cruise control. Buttons on the wheel randomly stop working? Sometimes all are good, but most common the "-" button stops working? Even had the "-" button acting like the "+" button. At times no buttons work at all and can't get cruise to work at all. I've adjusted...
Not sure if you have more space to work with on the 172 but on my 182 I needed to remove the front bumper and slam panel to change the alternator. As said above big jubilee clip around the tensioner works.
I didn't bother fitting a heat shield, sorry I can't help you out. But from previous replies, on a 182 it might need the exhaust manifold pushed back for access to get it clipped around the starter. When I replaced the solenoid terminal I took the inlet and airbox out.
I often listen to the radio on the first click of the ignition but in this case....
The key was out of the ignition at the time. Ignition barrel fully switched off.

Hi,
Just for info, I noticed today that if your charging a battery (e-cig) via the 12v socket (cliosport.net USB charger), the radio and fan stay powered after the ignition is switched off. This would kill your battery in no time. A relay must be getting a feed back through the 12v socket.
See them for sale for about £15. How does it get fixed round the starter? I can only assume that Renault didn't bother refitting my heat shield when they replaced my engine 6 years ago.
Replaced my starter motor around 1 year ish ago, as the car didn't start without knocking the starter. Looks like the issue was only the solenoid female spade terminal as the fault returned. I have removed the male spade terminal from the new starter as it was mounted on a small post between 2...
Just replaced my PS3s with rainsport3s, could pull away Quick on wet 1 Degree roads with very little spin. Also Pulled my car up my street on snow covered roads that the PS3s hadn't been able to deal with in the past. Rainsport3s struggled a little when pulling away on packed snow/ice but did...
Old thread I know but for anyone looking for a fix...,, I was sure the rear wash was blocked on my 182.... Pump was running for front and rear wash but no fluid pumping to rear window. Took the pump out, pulled the two inlets/outlets out of the pump body, split the black and white halves took...
This is for info for anyone searching starter motor.
Just changed my starter motor on my 182.
Warning: looks like the right angled main terminal tag needs to point upwards in order not to foul on the manifold. When picking up a new starter make sure the main terminal tag will not be up against...
Once manifold is free and starter unbolted remove the starter by pushing manifold up, back and right, starter will come out of the gap between the starter mounting area and manifold. I messed around for ages removing the forward heat shield trying to get the starter out the bottom , I even had...
Hi, it's a long shot but hope someone can help. The wife's 2010 Laguna coupe has an abs fault. I'm looking for a wiring diagram as the fault is sensor open circuit. But sensor replaced and the fault won't clear and remains the same. Been a paid member on here for many years and hope someone out...
Just for info if any one is searching for a fix......
Over the past few weeks my 182 cranked over just a little more than usual before it fired up.
Today it wouldn't fire at all, Strong crank, could hear the fuel pump but wouldn't start, not even a splutter.
I had a look on here, found the TDC...

Your Voltage is being dropped across a high Resistance, the higher the "I" Current you draw the higher the voltage across the high Resistance.
ie. if 5 Volts drop across the resistance you only get about 7 volts and not 12volts at the pump.
Will Have a potential of 14.4 ish volts with the...
Had my 2005 182 from new, Can't part with the little fooker...Always said i'll ditch it when it blows up..It chucked a rod and got a new engine. Had an Elise 111s while owning the clio,,,,Lotus is gone and still got the clio. It's turning into triggers brush, but as been said b4 most bang for...
lol. Might be. Did I mention this is my second engine, first one had the top end rebuilt due the belt failure at around 40k, then chucked a rod a few thousand miles later.
What could 10-40W engine oil do to a 182? Cos just looked at my service reciepts from Parks Renault Dreghorn. And thats what they have been putting in for the past 7 years. If only I had bothered looking up what should have been used. But you would think a main dealer would put the correct oil in.
I know this was a while back,,,but just to let anyone know how I got it cleaned out...spoiler off...washer off.....washer into hot water...gave it a blow....put it all back together.
