Having a squeeky belt issue, ive just noticed that the nut on long bolt that comes out top of altonator is right at top. Could this be the cause of squeeking belt?

Yeah I didnt think WD was a good idea!! Ive just had my mate start it whilst i was under bonnet, defo coming from altonator area, only squeeks when I rev it but goes soon after.

hi, I had the same problem all winter, every time i started it the comp. would reset. I got a new battery and problem solved.

changed coil pack but made no difference. I give up

Ive arranged to swap coil packs with my mate off his 172 cup so will try that tomorrow. Ill keep u posted.

I have the same problem with my 172. Will rev fine upto around 5.5k but seems very laboured after that until limiter. Although ive notices if i hold the revs and let it go upto limiter there doesnt seem to be a missfire, its just when you floor it i get the missfire after 5.5k.. been doing it...
