IMO the clio sports are "Quick" but not really that "Fast". Straight line speed and pulling power is not the best but for me the thrill of the car is on twisty roads where it can keep up with a lot of things out there.
Wouldn't worry about it!
Guys
problem with my car and have got the aa out. problem is, he seems to think its a problem with the fuel shut off valve (car wouldnt start, thought it was flat battery and turned it over, hence the theory the furl shut off valve may have kicked in)
trouble is, no idea where the darn thing...
Started this thread yesterday, still on the front page of the forum

Couple of links on there of where to buy.
Also http://www.brakesint.co.uk/ seem pretty good if you're after OEM.
Cool, might get the Bendix ones instead then, they are only £5 more anyway.
I've got brembo grooved discs with ferrodo pads on the front but not too bothered about the rear due to the lack of braking they contribute to.
Yeah, seems apparent from the searching i've done around them!
Cheers for the response though guys. Think i'm just going to call in to GSF over lunch today and get the mintex ones.
That'll leave me only with the issue of wrestling with my calipers to get the things on! :D
Just called both GSF and Renault now,
Renault stealership want £42.35 + vat for a set of rear pads, stuff that!
GSF offer 3 brands;
Cheap: £9.40 + vat for vtech(?) pads
Mid: £13.60 + vat for Mintex
Top: £18.10 + vat for Textar (Thought he said Textron but never heard of them...)
Much...
Thanks.
Just checked their online catalogue out and there's none on there for the RS versions. May give them a call to see if they can get hold of them and at what price.
Rear pads need replacing soonish and i'm just wondering where the best/cheapest place to get them from is?
I'm not upgrading and just after some standard, preferably genuine, pads for the 182.
Was going to fit them myself to save some pennies so anywhere off the net is good!
Cheers,
Dan
Good effort!
I used to live in Oldfield park in during uni, it is an arse to park! Fortunately I didn't have my 182 then with the naff steering lock to worry about though!
Mine makes a knocking noise occasionaly, not got a clue what it is! Disappears for a bit then comes back, v.odd!
As for the 'skidding' on low speed manoueveres, i think that's just down to the 'sporty' set up. I suppose it might have something to do with the tyre camber on full lock and lack...
I'd say his was worth a bit less too tbh. Then again, as has been said, you might struggle to shift your mk1 vee for a decent price anytime soon.
I would be tempted.
Sounds a bit odd to me, a lot of dealers don't seem to know anything about the cliosport range.
No point in lugging around a spare wheel in the boot, extra weight for the sake of it. Can of Holt's tyreweld is enough to get you to a garage.
As far as servicing goes, cambelt is 72,000 miles...
Surely the location of the built-in system is a bit naff? That section of the dash is quite offset, would have thought the view of the screen would be obscured a bit from the driving position.
If I was going to get one i'd probably get a tomtom or equivalent, can take it anywhere then.
Of...
That's the one. Yet to use the hand car wash place, normally prefer to do it myself but may give it a go soon, getting too cold outside to be cleaning the car!
SAP is a massively complicated system. We have it at our place and it works well, training for staff has been an issue though as it's not the most user friendly.
If it's implemented properly it is an impressive tool, I don't think our place fully exploits its potential.
LOVE: The value for money, great little car for not much outlay, the handling, the mental noise it makes when you keep your foot in it, the colour (RB still the best ;) )
HATE: The driving position, utter gash. The oversize steering wheel. The idiots who seem to think that you want to race all...
Driving blind ain't good!!
I find the auto headlights useful but the auto wiper function really p*sses me off! Half the time it's going like the clappers when it's spitting then when it rains harder is slows down, crappy french attempt at being too clever!
I'd much rather have a variable...
http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/roadcars/heritage/clio182/specification.asp
The basic spec included automatic headlights and wipers.
Not had an RAC inspection so don't know about those, did a HPI check though to put my mind at rest, handing over a big wad of cash to someone is a bit...
I find it useful but probably because i'm too lazy to turn a stalk!
I wouldn't have thought it would have 'flashed' going through a tunnel. Mine come on pretty quickly but (with mine anyway) there's a timed delay when you exit a tunnel back into daylight.
I just find them annoying when...
Yeah it should have automatic xenon headlights. To activate/deactivate them you need to turn your sidelights on and off twice consecutively with the engine off and ignition on. One bleep confirms deactivation and two bleeps confirm its activation.
Like Has said about the spoiler pack, should...
PM's mean anything? lol
Welcome anyway. Good luck with the car hunting. My first car was a Pug 309 Trio S, special in its own way! Shame it's rusting away on the drive now, should really sort that out....!
Afternoon everyone!
I had my car in for accident repair back in April and they changed the rear wheel and tyre as part of it.
Thing is, i've only just noticed (on applying some tyre wall shine to make her look all pretty!:o ) that they've mounted the tyre on the wrong way, muppets! I...
You can register on Renault.co.uk and view an e-version of your handbook if you've lost it.
"Dipped beam headlights Automatic operation:
With the engine running, vehicles fitted with a light sensor, the dipped beam headlights light up automatically as light begins to fade; stalk 1 does not...
Yeah missed mine a while back when mine was in the garage for about a month too.
I had a 1.2 Corsa as a courtesy. Have to say, it was actually a nice smooth drive and the mp3 connection was very useful!
Could still have fun in it so long as you kept the speed up, shame it had the overtaking...
Morning guys,
Had my car serviced on Fri and had discs and pads changed. Car running well but there's a new noise coming from the front off-side.
At low speeds (upto 30-40) there's an occasional rattling/knocking sound which is quite irritating.
I didn't have any suspension work done and...
I've booked in at K-Tec for my 36k tomorrow. £210+ vat on the website. I'm wondering if cliosport discount is valid for services...? Forgot to ask on the phone.
Need new brake pads too so even with those it should still be less than getting it done at Renault!
Didn't even contemplated getting...
Personally I prefer my racing blue without stripes but I wouldn't bother removing them if you've bought one with them on, like others have said, its part of the heritage! Would be a shame to lose one of them because of what 'other people think'.
I don't think it matters which cliosport you have...
Afternoon guys,
Just a quickie really. My 182 has just over 28,000 miles on it now but its service intervals are a bit off. It had its first service after ~6k (must have been a new owner insisting on one) and its last service was just before I bought it ~18k.
Next service due (at 12k...
