Well Im happy we got the job done :-) Coz yours was the loudest Clio Engine to date....By a long way!!!
Will be interesting to see the next rolling road print out you get :-)
To be honest guys.... That was my last Clio.... Ive cursed French cars to much over the last few months :-)
With the system mount problems caused by the Engine moving the exhaust so much (espacialy on cars with old dog legs) Its just not worth it from a business point of view. Daz's car has a...
I havent. Hes been down twice since building the system but each time Ive not had me camera with me :-(
Looks good too
He's in the RAF and was talking about being away on duty for a while now
The system moving is due to the design of the ball joint flexi used in the 172's stock down pipe. As the stock system is hidden you dont see it. But when you have a 3.5" cut out and a 3" tip , you can seen it. When you rev/ put the engine under load the flexi joint still pushes the system a...
Last week we had it down to 84 db @ 3000 rpm from running on the spot..... But John wanted even less.... Its now at 80.7 db at 3000rpm 1m away from the tip at 45 deg... At tick over its 70.1 db....
TALKING IS 76 Db
Blip the throttle hard and its still not hitting 90 db's
Dont get me wrong...
again Daz, Up to my kneck with things so no progress there and Ive also just told my previous supplier of Exhaust Mounts to Sod off after being mucked about by them.
Right Guys... Im off to do a trade stand at the Stoneleigh Kit Car Show so wont be back online till Tuesday
Our Stand will be in...
So what you want is a front wheel drive V8 Doner Car.....
Caddilac STS from 1996 to 2002
Has a superb 32 Valve Quad over head cam all Alloy 4.6L v8.. And you can get the whole car for £2500....
Daz, going back to a earlier point. I have never tried 3 x AT in a row.... It would be inter5esting for sure but untill we get the smaller ATs made then we are not going to find out.... Im working on it...
We have found increases with the silencer both at the front and the back of the system from the AT's
The best effective silencing is with the AT at the front. BUT on our Euro cars they just dont fit in many of the transmission tunnels (well thats what it used to be called before the wrong...
Mmmmm, It passed its MOT.
The cats are made with a frigile ceramic material. It dosnt take very long for them to destroy them selves if its breaking down....
Id be tempted to check out the cat properly before buying a new one... Means removing the cat and seing whats trapped (if anything)...
Before fitting a new cat Check your AF ratio (MOT station machine should be able to do this.
Cats can fail on there own..BUt more often its a poorly tuned engine that burns them out
We fit our stocked CatCo American Cats on all engines upto 3L (There designed to work on engines upto 5.9L, so plenty of flow for a small engine)
Now you will need some one to fabricate it into the system as its a slip over fit on 2.5" tube, But you will save some money over that £400 price...
All the systems are comming in at below 100db,
But its this Resonance that I need to solve. It might just be the case that the Clio just needs better sound proofing (I dont know Ive never looked in side the boot of one) Do you get a lot of road noise from the back of the car?
Daz, Yep we left enough room to fit an AR in that gap if needs be. Ive actualy done this system in 2" tubing until the rear section. (2" you can get 250bhp down a 2" tube if its made right)
And you right about the front AR doing very little.
As said this system is quiet as it is 90.3db (on the...

Video Link....As said its not actualy very loud, My camer Mic distorts easy and this one only did it on the run down
First 172 system was done yesterday, And to be honest not a complete sucsess. BUT I know how to solve it and Im reworking the system on Thursday.
THis system wanted to be quiet but sporty. Well Ive got it down to 90.3 db at 1m away, which is abaout as low as a straight through system you can...
Hi Pich,
in time we hope to release the best of the systems as a ready to fit retail boxed item... BUT its going to take time... Just getting the car for a period of time needed to get the project off the ground is a difficult one. Short of buying a car and using it for development work its a...
