I must be driving like a wuss then becasue I have done 31k including 2 track days and am still on the original pads... Im gonna change them at the 36,000 service.
In my defence, most of my miles are on the motorway!:devilish:
I get about 90mph in third on the standards, but my GPS says 90 is actually about 85... and even up at !30 it was actually !25, so about 5 mph out consistently over the higher end of the range.
Lower down, i.e. 30mph on the speedo is actially about 28, so only a small discrepancy at lower speeds.
Sorry about all this Rhys!
Regarding insurance, I always understood that you only lose 2 years no claims bonus for the first claim, so you should still have 3 years which will make things at least semi-affordable.
To billabong and cupsize:
Before you go sl*gging people off (in this case Jeremy Townsend) it may be in your interests to find out who someone is and what their background is.
Having met Jeremy several times I would back him EVERY time over some alleged pictures you saw on some internet...
If you get a Bel 330 or 550 you will get the mounting kit with it which includes the suckers which you can mount on the bottom of the windscreen in the small area in the middle which is not heat reflective, so absolutely no problems what-so-ever.
A few members have Bel 550s (Jas springs to...
Totally agree about the track - after reading your last post Simon I have lost any respect for you - totally screwing the car all the time and risking the lives of other innocent people is not clever or cool - it is simple stupidity.

Only some Smiths seem to have them - I first tried Burnley to no avail along with several local newsagents, and then managed to get a copy in the Richdale Smiths, so very strange coverage indeed:confused:

A good article, spoiled for me by two major inaccuracies :(
Firstly my name is Mark Baron, not Mark Brown, and secondly they have it down that Neil Plant (V6 Neil) used to won my car, whereas in truth he used to own the Magnex exhaust on my car, not the whole thing... Also I cant be seen on...

Hi Paul,
Just to make sure we are referring to the same thing... I am referring to the normal beam when driving, not the mental pull back on the stick when there is nothing around one. The one that has gone is the one you would use on, say, the motorway at night with other cars around...

The stuff I use for my Magnex 6x4 Oval is from Halfords.. not sure what it is called but it comes in a toothpaste type tube and is silver - it was £4.95 I think - it works a treat and leaves a nice shiny finish.
