As far as I can gather (but not confirm) Renault Group were getting pi55ed off with Renault Ireland buying loads of 172s to import to the UK. So that was stopped.
Then they moved the 172 to special order because they only sell a handful over here.
Next thing the pull the car completely...
Well yesterday was a Black day in motoring history in Ireland. The cops have just introduced the points system for speeding . Minor speeding offences get you 2 points. If you get 12 over 3 years you are off the road ofr 6 mths.
Now I dont speed ....but do over take cars quickly and then...
As I was dropping my 172 in to get a new steering wheel the head sales guy of my renault dealer asked me if i wanted to sell the car.
Apparently Renault Ireland can no longer purchase 172s from Renault France. So, no new 172s over here.
Pretty good for the resale value of my car..but...

Anyone else out there experienceing it...and have you had it fixed??
Tx,
Sean

Most of the fun I have is blowing away dum ass tailgaters, since they have no idea what the Sport badge means. Especially the fluffy dice and BMW (less than 323c) brigade;)

Wow, this thread has taken a twist. From condeming the max power boy racers to a really serious topic. I do get rightly p11sed off with the cops driving dangerously on a chase (not on escort duty) BUT, anyone that has a gripe at the Paramedics or Fire Service needs to sell their 172s and go and...
Paying 2200 Euro (but thats heavily dicounted by job)
31 years- no ncb as all previous insurance was on company policys. No accidents or dodgy history.
Was quoted on average 6500 euro through normal channels.
My mate with a TT is 30, has full NCB and pays 2100 Euro. Its all MAD.

Im convinced that Ireland is the most expensive country for cars (maybe Sweden is close). Especially after seeing the price of the 172 in Oz. So who paid the most and the least for their 172. I know were being screwed here...insurance is also f**kin crazy.
Mine cost 26700 Euro = GB£16900...
