I've not raced my Clio, but when I'm in the zone on a trackday and driving quickly I would be too busy to look at a dash!
Looking forward to seeing the next update!
Those CF bits do look great. I'm so glad I finished mine as driving it is a million times better than faffing around with it. I suppose you do have a second cup to keep you happy!
you should come and do anglesey on the 27th of may. Quite a few clios going I believe
Are you planning on having the car on the road?
If not then bin the lot and go for a standalone ECU like me! I made all the looms for my car just like Big_Ash is doing right now!
So the Relay worked when i earthed it to the car. It should be the ECU earthing the connection to make the fan work but it doesn't at the moment. hmmmm
Ooooo good idea Jord!
I used to have the fan on a switch so when i "thought" it was getting hot i would just flick the switch so i know the fan works, so i will check the relay!
So today i opened my new Rs232 - USB cable so i could plug my Omex ECU into the laptop so i can make some changes! After loading the driver onto the laptop it connected straight away!!! All those bloody hours trying to get the old cable to work and it never did!!
Anyway, i had made the wiring...
At Oulton Park they said i was just about on 105 DB which was their limit, but i didnt get in trouble all day so it might not have been too bad on the drive by!
Tony I'm at the Nurburgring that weekend so can't make that one. It's a shame as I would have liked to have been on track with your car.
I'm very happy with my brake set up being 95% front brakes, apart from the peddle only really working from the last third of its travel which isn't very...
No pictures in this update, but i noticed that my 172 cup compensating valve seems to have been leaking!! Not from the brake pipes but from the middle bit right at the bottom of the valve!! Its a pain because i didn't really want to buy a new one but i might have a go as bodging it with sealer...
Short update!
After lots of thinking and a few emails to Carbone Lorraine I ended up buying a set of CL pads, but the more aggressive RC6!
These should not crumble away so I'm looking forward to getting my face pulled off with the stopping power!
Also bought 2 sets of Brembo HC discs so the...
What's the least amount of fuel you can run in a track car untill it starts to fuel surge?
Using R888's and a ITB'd engine!
i'm only asking because I don't have a fuel gauge and want to know how long I could run for on Dry days
There was plenty of life left on the outer pads but the inside ones had crumbled away!
They have served me pretty well to be honest.
Two Bedford Autodrome trackdays
Castle Combe
Quite a few laps of the Nurburgring
Oulton Park
8000 Road miles
But it still they shouldnt fall apart!
I will buy...
Understeer!!!!! What Understeer?????
So these are 1.0deg camber shims which i will use on the rear to give me some toe out! Hopefully this will improve my turn in :)
On another note, friday i get the car its wash after its trackday at Oulton Park a few weeks ago and started to give the car...
Yeah i'm not bothered about a speedo.
I have a Blue LED in the middle of my "Dash" which i was going to use as a shift light but never got round to wiring it in.
But TBH i have just got used to the sound of the engine to change gear. I didnt hit the limiter once at Oulton and its not like i...
