i need some more information on the resistor pack i.e what the chip people replace on it is called and where i could find one.
could really do with speaking to J666EDS does any1 know if hes online still?
refering to these posts he seems to be in the know...
a friend of mine is having problems with there a/c in a 182.
have bridged pin 1 and 5 on the resistor connections and the fan worked.
so am guessing that the resistor is broken.
ive been doing some searching on this and have read somewhere that it is possible to fix the resistor instead of...
ive just bridged pin 1 and 5 and the fan works. so what does this mean? resistor pack goosed? if so how much am i looking at to replace it? and is this the only thing it could be? thanks
okie dokie i used quite a bit of force and just seemed like i was going to start snapping things.
also i think i read somewhere that there might only be a resistor if you have climate control do the 1.2 expression have this?
a friend of mine is having this problem in her 54 plate 182. how do i get the clip of thats holding the scuttle cover on so i can bridge pin 1 and 5 to check its the resistor?

Have been told he is good bud, fairly cheap too.
As above, have been chasing the same problem for ages!
Have changed lambda sensor, spark plugs, coil pack, still doing it.
What else could it be please?
I f**ked up the threads trying to take the lambda sensor out, so he took the cat off and tapped the threads to get the new one in.
Bloody hell you don't hang about! Head skimmed?
Yeah i suppose it does sound a bit like it's running on 3 cylinders on idle, it still pulls very strong though!
Just done the spark plugs on the weekend, put some bosch super 4 things on, and the leads are all tight...
How much do coilpacks cost?
Have recently had trouble with a missfire whilst on idle, & you have to rev it hard to pull away... done the lambda sensor, was better for about an hour & now its gone again!
Just wondered if the engine management light comes on when the coilpack goes? If not, what could it be as my EM light...
