Hi all,
Posted about this earlier but still no solution. Basically, the interior fans aren't blowing straight away from start up, despite the CC display showing full power (like when you press the windscreen demister button). Eventually after anywhere up to 10-15 mins, the fans will start...
So, was it the rheostat (I heard climate control doesn't use these, has something called a PWM?) or the fan, or both?
Mines in the garage currently being investigated. They reckon changing the rheostat is big job as it involves getting behind the dash? Is this true, if not, how do you get to...
If you've got a 360, there's a demo on Xbox live. I wasn't a big fan personally as the controls were a bit annoying.
Dungeon Keeper 1/2 = 2 of the best games ever.
Right then, I'll take it back to the garage and pay the full whack I guess.
Between this, the leaky AC system, the melting steering wheel, broken ABS ring and the all the other annoying little things, this Clio is starting to cost a fair bit to keep working properly, and I've only had it a...
Apparently the problem I've been having with the fans in my 182 (CC display showing partial/full power, nothing coming out of the fans for 5-20 mins until the car heats up properly) is down to a faulty heater resistor pack. Is that the same as the rheostat? The garage quoted £90 for a new one...
It does seem weird that so few people appear to play it online. I guess the game doesn't appeal to the usual 12 year old American brat demographic that dominate most other games.
When I go online with Forza 3, I can only see a few hundred people, sometimes over a thousand, online, most of them playing circuits in class A cars. I would have thought there'd be more people playing than this? Is everyone else seeing similar numbers or is it my connection that's the problem...
Right, I'm taking it to the garage tomorrow. Can anyone tell me exactly where/which one the fuse is so I can point him in the right direction? I don't know how familiar he is with Clios.
Cheers
Right, just had a look and realised I didn't know what I was doing. I was looking in the passenger footwell, is that where the fuse box is? How do I know which one needs changing? I saw a lot of wiring that I didn't want to mess with.
There's a garage I know quite well down the road, might...
Got a new battery yesterday; it fixed the cold temperature self-zeroing trip computer problem I think (if it was chilly enough over night), but the CD player's still switching itself off.
B*gger. I was using an electric tyre pump the other day which suddenly stopped working, thought it was the pump itself but it was obviously the socket.
How do I fix this, and is it cheap?
I was driving back from work the other with the CD player when it started beeping (think it was three times) and then it turned itself off. I turned it back on and it seemed fine, but when I got home and switched the engine off, the CD player stayed on, which it doesn't normally do. It's done...
The problem I'm having with mine is that when I press the front windscreen de-mister button, the climate control screen shows maximum power (bars all the way to the top), but there's nothing coming from the fan for anywhere between 5-20 minutes. I'm sure I never had this problem last Winter.
I think my battery's on its way out. I've got another issue (trip computer resetting when the temperature drops to near zero) which is allegedly down to a duff battery. Got an issue with the CD player (starts beeping and then turns itself off) which could also be related.
****ing Renaults...
Hi all,
Got an issue with my climate control/heater. It doesn't start blowing properly until 10-20 mins after the engine's started, which is a bit of a problem when you're trying to de-mist the windscreen.
Anyone got any ideas what the problem is?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
Matt
Hit a pheasant at 60mph a couple of years ago when I had a Fiesta ST. It went under the bumber and somehow mangled the radiator which cost £240 to replace!
I've had two new windscreens with Admiral, whichever company they use should ring you and ask for a time and place to turn up - you can...
I had an issue with the ABS sensor ring. It was cracked, causing the ABS to engage unnecessarily. Every now and then I'd hear a sort of grinding/knocking noise and feel a pulsing sensation when braking. If you're getting those symptoms then it could be the ABS ring. Didn't cause a problem, was...
They look good but Cheshire's a bit of a trek for me (I'm in Cambridge). I'll shop around for a couple of other quotes but I don't think I'll get much better than £670. Plus I'd get to use their mighty bright red 1 litre V reg Micra courtesy car.
Hi,
My 182's five years old in a couple of weeks so due a belt change. I'm planning on getting both belts changed, plus a service and an MOT. Had a quote for £670 for the lot - does that seem reasonable? I know it's a 5.5 hour job just for the belts.
My insurance is due a week later and...
Found a source for ABS rings for various makes: http://www.reluctorrings.com/index.php?
They seem quite pricey though (£27 + VAT), does anyone know anywhere cheaper?
Yeah the guy said he could replace the ring if I could find one. I was hoping someone would know how many teeth the front ABS rings on a 182 have, can't believe it varies from car to car!
