Just paid my insurance again for another year which I thought was a really good price considering my age etc. Just need to see what this year holds in store for the car mods wise as last year didn't contain much other than one or two small things....we shall see! :D
Like I said,I know it's good for my age,but you wouldnt look for it being cheaper? I think you might ;)
Yeah the area I live in helps alot aswell. Best area you get for insurance purposes I beleive
Well,I got my renewal through today for the 172. Almost a bit of a surprise that I've actually owned it for a year now  lol. Anyways this year just past I've been paying £1500 fully comp with Admiral. I was 18 when i got the car,19 now (20 later this year) also just received my 2nd years No...
Maybe. First port of call tomorrow I think will be to check the battery and see if it's that. Was only mot'd and had a full service just last month so surely shouldn't be anything major.
Having issues starting my ph2 172 but they seem to be intermitant. It will start sometimes but only if I pump the accelerator and other times it just clicks over once and then refuses to turn over at all. It's only started doing this since this batch of really cold weather has hit the country...
Can't decide which wheels to go for on my black ph2 172-white 2118's or silver/anthracite turinis. Anyone ever done 16" 2118's as I only ever recall seeing pics of 15" ones before. Pics might help too if you wish :)
Steve
You guys don't live far enough north. Enter the area of Aberdeen i stay in and I'm insuring my ph2 172 for £1500 fully comp n the policy was takin out in my own name when I was 18 with 1 years NCB :D
Showing that I'm not too clued up in the brakes department....what improvement do you see with braided hoses and what purpose do they serve? Never really knew
Won't rub at 60mm with standard 16's. My question for you si where did you get 60mm springs from? :S ive never seen springs for a sport lower than 40mm unless theyre custom made
Well he's wrong! As I got my 172 when i was 18 with 1 years no claims and my insurance is £1500 fully comp, holding my own insurance policy and come renewal time it will be going down to approximately £680 fully comp at 19 with 2 years no claims.
As for the Astra GSI I can insure one...
Em around the £240 mark mate
Ah rite. Tbh mate i dont really know why,I use DAB at home for stations like 1Xtra and just thought if it was an option I might just get it in the car aswell
Right, wanting to get an aftermarket headunit for the 172 and have pretty much narrowed it down to the xda305 alpine, the one with the full colour screen. Does anyone know if this can be used with a DAB unit at all?
I'm kinda interested in getting one of these soon. My only 'concern' if you like,is that i see the cat-back systems have like an inwardly rolled slash cut tip, where as the race system seems to have a sraight cut outwardly rolled tip to the backbox? Does this mean to get the straight cut...
My mate had this on his 2.0 megane coupe. He said it was corrosion of the door under the seal. Happened to his car on both doors though. Not much help on a remedy I know, just another experience of it
Tried opening my bonnet the other day with no success, although heard no funny noises to suggest the cable had snapped at all and the lever still feels the same as before when it was working. I know the bonnet catches were recalled on clios, including the ph2 172's as far as I'm aware but unsure...
Places like powerflow dealers or similar would charge about £50 I would imagine to get everything flanged up so you can bolt it in and out. Thats how much my mate was at our local powerflow guy
Yeah I'm also gonna say it's a 172. c**t outs in the bumper for the exhaust are too big for standard, seats as pointed out are the 172 ones without the white dots on the alcantara and the iceburg silver colour
Quinn Direct. Cheapest insurance around for me and a few mates at 17 last year and non-performance enhancing mods aren't charged any extra for. Give them a try!
