Ok so I bought a new washer ball from renault... and it turns out theyve now fixed the problem with the ball popping out so I now cant simply swap the ball over... Im going to have to replace the whole stalk.... Ive tried popping the new one out but its tight! and Im going to damage something...

Well I just emptied the washing machine to find I had washed my plip. It still works but to be safe Ive taken it appart and Im going to leave it in the airing cupboard tonight. They really seem to have done well with the rubber seal in the plip though... it only had a couple of drops of water in it.

Ok next problem with the car... the clutch has been started creaking when you push the pedal up and down... its not the pedal assembly... and I can hear the noise coming from the fork on the gearbox... so it this likely to be the cable... the forks pivot or the fork on the back of the thrust...
