Took my car in to have the 850T fitted today, but ive been told it cannot be fitted to Mk2 172. The engineer could not find an inhibitor wire which he needed to connect the alarm to. He even showed me a data sheet from toad which explains where to find the neccesary wires but the location...

I want to get an alarm fitted for piece of mind, i know an alarm doesnt stop someone breaking in, but it is a deterrant i guess. Should i let renault upgrade the immobiliser to Cat 1 for £330, or a local firm install an upgrade for £229?
