I managed about 60 miles on the red light. Was driving carfeully though. When I got to the station, I rocked the car and could still hear fuel rattling around in the tank. When I filled it up, I only fitted 47 litres in.
I had the same issue with another car, spoke to a mechanic mate and he said the coolant:water ratio is wrong which is why the engine is running cool.
Either drain some of the coolant and then top up with water, or better still drain the system and then refill to the Reno requirements.
I run it till the light comes on and then fill up, but I have never managed to pack more than 40 lts in. Spoke to the local stealers to confirm the tank capacity and he said it is 50lt, so I should get about 100 miles on the fuel light! Have'nt risked it yet....
I get about 360 miles from 40...
Try using a HTTP tunnel app. I used one successfully where i used to work for downloads, messenger and playin Doom.
Although as mentioned above, application layer filtering may detect this...
It was a twisting type piston on my 172. I brought the piston pusher tool from a local motorist discount centre for £15. It made the job so much easier so its well worth investisting in one.
Yeah I remember you, although I'd didnt see you for long ;)
You gotta love that road. We do Tamworth to Bournemouth quite regularly and the 60+ miles we do on the A34 is pure fun!
I test drove a few GTI180's before I got the 172. The pug is more refined but its not a 'driver-on-the-edge" kind of drive like the Clio is.
Ive caned a few GTI180's since, in my MGF (145bhp)!!!
I feel for ya matey. Same sort of thing happen to me a while ago. Some plank drove into me on a junction whilst I was stationary. He lied out of his @rse and I lost my licence! Again, no witnesses! Get as much info and proof as you can.
Hope it all goes well...
Both belts are due for renewal and the quotes im getting are increasing! The more garages I speak too, the more im inclined to do the work myself, but the lockings tools etc are the tricky bit. However after some serious brwsing i came across a company that makes and sells these tools for all...
I experienced exactly the same thing when i first purchased mine. It turned out to the floor mat sitting under the thottle stopper thingy in the floor. Now, when I want to hooon it, I have to slide the floor map backwards towards the seat, then the pedal can reach the floor as and when required.
Check out Bell Insurance, they are part of Admiral but worked about £200 cheaper than any other quote i got.
Also adding a female named driver will lower your premium too.
The NCB you are acruing is only valid for that company, so expect a huge premium at renewal time!
Many ins companies offer a 'shared driver' option, which makes it completely legal to insure the car under another persons name. It saved me £400 put the policy under the missus name. She does...
I have just amped my front comps and connected the rears to the headunit and I am well happy with the sound.
FYI the Amp is pushing 2 x 120W to the fronts, which are something crazy like 210W PMPO and the rears are 85W.
The seat logo's are full colour and the seats are colour coded with the rest of the interior which is grey and blue (really quite ugly) if thats what you mean?
There is the usual reno diamond on the bonnet.
I thought all 172's had climate control as standard - going by the parkers facts...
Can someone clarify what car I have? I purchased it as a 172 but it doesn't seem to fit in with the specs above.
Its a Black 2001 (Y) with no climate control or 5 spoke alloys.
It does however has the Xenon headlights, half leather and half suede/alcantara interior with the buckets seats...
