So far I'm very impressed. Sure it has a crap interior and is all a bit flimsy but the drive is great, really handles well and makes my E89 Z4 35i feel sloppy and uncontrolled in comparison. It could certainly do bit some more drama and the higher end pace is a bit flat but I'm sure the exhaust...
Well I got my new car today but it wasn't a Clio 200! Ended up with a Meg R26.....the potential for power modifications was too great to pass up.
Handles brilliantly and I've already got a remap and milltek exhaust fitting booked in for next month!
Re-assuring to hear.
My reasoning behind the 200 is exactly what you say....modern and decent to look at, fairly reliable, manual gearbox with revvy N/A engine, fantastic chassis and doesn't cost the earth to run.
It's only going to be a weekend car anyway with hopefully 3 - 4 track days a...
Having had a 182 FF and 172 Cup when younger, I've always fancied getting back in to another RS Clio and currently on a serious hunt to find a nice example. Having done the 1*2 it's a 200 I am after - for my eyes the 200 looks more modern and reviews suggest it addressed some of the criticism so...
Very good advice, thank you, will give them a call!
The Clio has taken a slight back seat to me completing my bike licence this winter but still on the cards for spring!
Thanks both, currently battling with insurance for road and track.
Only have one set of NCB so the insurance on a Clio 172 Cup as a 2nd car is coming up more expensive than planned...trying to find a combined track/road policy that gives me X number of track days + limited road milage to attend.
After quite a few years of absence I've decided this year is the year I can justify getting a track day hack and getting back behind the seat of a Clio.
Used to read this forum all the time and have owned a 172 Cup and 182 FF (oh and a little 1.2 16v) and always said that it would be my car of...
I've only had the car a few weeks so unfortunately no idea when the alignment was last done. I am intending on getting that done soon but I don't want to fork out for full Geo if its something else causing the uneven wear. Everything seems tight to me.
Hi guys,
looking at the MOT advisory notes from last September for my recently acquired 172 Cup it states:
Macpherson strut has slight movement at upper attachment (both O/S and N/S).
A guy from a local tyre garage immediately diagnosed it as being loose simply by bouncing up and down on the...
Thought Id post in case anyone has has similar problems as all issues have been fixed at a garage:
Charcoal canister purve valve was stuck open
Starter motor was simply faulty
Misfire was due to faulty injector, immediately came up as fault on reader and car now drives normally.
Hi all,
Been a while since Ive been on this forum! Ended up with my sister's 1.2 '04 Clio as a daily drive (not quite the 182 I used to have!) and its got a few problemms. I will probably have to get it checked at a garage at some stage but if there is anything I can do with it myself Id like...
Just trying to sort out a misfire problem which only occurs when the car is cold. Rstuner comes up with "O2 Heater fault" which had me completely confused because it sounds like it was to do with the heating matrix.
Ive just thought: does the clio use heated lambda sensors? This would explain...
Misifirng when cold and lower than usual fuel economy, emissions light on constantly. RStuner states Front 02 sensor faulty, I've searched the forum for a while and few posts suggest this is in the top of the inlet plunum while other says its just before the cat.
I want to take it out and...
Played for 10 mins and it annoyed the hell out of me.
Played for 3 hours after work yesterday and I f**king loved it. It really does take a lot of getting used to but once you have it is brilliant. Had absolutely no online issues with the PS3 even at peak time. Using the medic class defending a...
Had the same problem after adjusting the brake switch after fitting new discs and pads, turns out I had knocked the clutch sensor in the process
Just to add; when you put the switch back in make sure you ease the clutch/brake pedal down. Took me an hour to realise that after adjusting it...
I've always thought that standard definition TV is broadcast in just stereo sound. With a fancy sound system you can "force" 5.1 channel sound with a virtual surround driver that your sound system has built in (there should be info in your user manual). It won't be true surround, but atleast all...
As much as I sympathise with avoiding high insurance and running costs (I'm only 21). I drive a 182 and 95% of my mates think its a 1.2 16v and don't give it a second look or give a s**t about it.
Noone will notice the mods except other RS owners.....and as soon as you floor it they'll notice...
Just a mid week thing, 28th to 30th. Was pretty good actually, decent relaxing break......could have done with another day though to be honest....oh....and without the constant freezing rain lol!
I recognised the number plate for some reason, project thread or something? No idea why I do lol.
Silver W-reg, cs.net sticker on rear. Parked in the snow opposite the Guildford odeon in car park.
LOL I just had three AC130s from care packages in a row. 52 kills - 6 deaths. Luck ftw. Didn't set nuke as a killstreak though :(
I normally get ammo reloads or counter UAV.....hardly worth the effort.
If you're into cars (you're on a car forum so I assume you are) then imo get the clio.
I've tried the "put it in the bank/go on a nice holiday/get wasted every day/buy a sex toy" with the money and as fun as all that was I still love the thought of waking up and driving a car that I enjoy.
Do...
My sister pays:
£1200
Fully compy, tpft.
17 years old
Passed her test in November 2009
'53 plate Dynamique
Lowest "threat level" area.....I think that's quite a bit factor.
I think it's through Direct line.
