They guy is assuring me it's absolutely stunning and never believe the mileage
Fantastic history and 1 owner!
I have had a few 172's and 182's previously
I've just sold a 2015 Golf R and just looking for something cheap fun to free up some funds and a 197 is ticking the boxes at...
Thanks for reply mate
I have negotiated a better price with the seller to also include a decent warranty etc
Will it still have standard aircon with no climate pack?
Morning all
Thinking looking at this 197 in link below
Anyone know anything about it?
Also does anyone have a 197 buyers guide etc!
I just found a great car on Auto Trader:

Thanks in advance
Turbo sounds like a great idea in pub talk but in reality it's just not necessary in a strong 172/182 as they are just so balanced anyway in both performance and handling
I'm actually really enjoyibg owning a nippy fwd car that I can generally have fun in preety much all the time without the...
Your comparing the golf the the clio which is worth 15 times less but is the golf 15 times or even twice as good... No
My previous post referred to the mk1 Focus Rs in terms of value for money performance etc
As already said only my oppinion and each to there own etc the best all round daily...
Obviously not driven a properly sorted mk1 Rs then mate
Ive driven both therefore gives me the ability to give honest oppinion
Golf R is fantastic but is it worth 3 times the RS... No
Simple Live map and sports cat see's 320bhp in the Rs making it a bargain in comparison!
Each to there own...
But surely unless your going to take a new much faster hot hatch on track days etc then it's just a waste as can't truly enjoy and appreciate it driving on uk roads that are ridden with cameras and general idiot drivers etc!
I have all the creature comforts in the GTD not to mention the huge...
Having owned many more expensive cars over the years to include modded mk1 focus Rs, mk5 Golf Gti in 2009 etc I can honestly say that my £2500 clio 182 is by far the most fun I've had for the money
New cars do take my fancy quite often, even had a new golf R on order until I changed my mind and...
Just realised that now thanks mate
Having a good read through it all!
Im not really looking for power gains as been there done that with huge powered hot hatches, just looking to smooth the cold running and general power delivery out a bit!
Whats the pro's and cons of installing this on a 182?
Any horror stories of melted engines/ecu's etc!
Interested to hear owners reviews of this!
What does it do for the 172/182 clio
Thanks in advance
All sorted now thanks mate
Like a different car with refreshed inner/outer tie rods and lower ball joints!
Just new cup shocks and arb bushes to do now
Well I've just got back from having the car aligned on the hunter ststem which took 10 minutes and can happily say its now driving arrow straight
Chap said it was still well out from the other place that attempted it
Also confirmed slight leak on front shocker but doesn't require urgent...
Does anyone have the alignment figures for a full fat 182
Seems my local tyre place struggling to get it so steering wheel sits straight
Going to another place tomorrow which has a hunter hawk eye system but I want to be armed with the correct info when go there etc
Tracking again after changing shock!
Might aswell do both and both top mounts then in that case as not going through this hassle again if the other fails!
My only worry now is could the rack itself be knackered!
Love the little 182 but hating it at same time just now
Tempted to just replace...
Thanks for replies chaps
They definitely adjusted both track rods as i stood watching him do it
They also clamped the wheel central inside the car
Spent half the afternoon down there and steering wheel still sitting slightly off central so not sure whats going on!
Seems to drive straight and...
It was always central before the work was done so surely no reason why it can't be centralised now surely!
Definitely feels so much tighter to drive now with those parts renewed
Im fairly sure one of my front shocks is leaking slightly so thats a jo for near future but surely wouldn't...
So yesterday I replaced inner tie rods, outer track rod ends and both lower ball joints on my 2005 full fat 182
Today took it to local tyre place as they one of few open on Sunday and they must have set the tracking about 6 times and still the steering wheel isn't sitting straight, the equipment...
Thanks mate
Think il leave them for time being then as only cover around 5k mileage a year now and at £40+ a set its not somethings I want to change for the hell of it
Morning all
How often are people changing plugs on 172/182's?
I believe Renault say every 72k which sounds optimistic to me!
Mine were last changed about 2 years ago (17,000 miles) would it be good idea to replace again now?
Thanks
you are a star
Exactly what I've been trying to find
Fingers crossed looks like I've bought the right parts, will measure them when they turn up tomorrow
Thanks again
Evening all
Anyone know the correct length for the inner tie rods on a 182 with cup packs fitted?
Seems to be alot of confusion on this subject and people ending up with rods too short!
Today ive ordered some online which are firstline FTR5277
Have read on here that these work fine on the 182...
Hi all which size anti roll bar bushes for a 182?
20mm
23mm
25mm
Are they a big job to change or relatively easy if competent person on the spanner
Any how too's about?
Thanks
Thanks mate, yes very pleased with it, think i fell lucky finding a nice clean example to be honest as appears to be alot of thrashed tat out there when was looking!
Was a little put off mine before viewed it as has 7 owners but thankfully seems they must have cherished the car!
Personally think...
