You can buy the reader from fastchip.nl - if you send an email to Henk about which car it's for and so on, he will give you the correct map for your car.
What car is it for and I'll link you?
You're better off becoming a member on here though and buying second hand, mapping then reselling on here. You'll save a fair bit of money that way.
Once you have the device, it's easy as pissing in the street on a night out.

Im not really looking for power gains as been there done that with huge powered hot hatches, just looking to smooth the cold running and general power delivery out a bit!
