i recently purchased a 172 51 plate and since getting it home ive had trouble starting it when i try the imobilser is very temperamental but when it doesnt interfere with starting it usually turn over 3 or 4 times then just stops then will randomly start at other times though never 1st time then...

i have a clio 172 which is running a little rough and wont tick over happily and now after a few months like this the engine light has come on (im guessing connected) the car has been sat for a few months but has been run atleast once a week,ive brought an obd ll cable but dont have any sortware...

a little late probably but hope it might help someone else on mine you can use a crosshead screw driver or allen key which would mean you could use a long screw driver rather than fiddling with the allen key very helpful for those with big hands :D;)
