350BHP Scania turbo'd Merc W123 diesel drift weapon

It's a Finnish Merc that, the video was shot in Latvia though. There's apparrently a whole subculture here based around these tuned old diesel warhorses. They call 'em Super Turbo Diesels. Most are based on 300d engine as the block on 'em is quite bulletproof and can handle huge power with...

    fuel rail guard

After a bit of forum archeology it seems that the nuts are 10mm. Only problem is, that I seem to have one missing. No worries though, MOT is only tomorrow. :dead:

    fuel rail guard

Seems to be common enough. Just found out today that my 182's fuel rail guard had loosened up to the point that it is now only barely hanging on to the rest of the engine. It was rattling as hell when I started her up. Only heard it because I had the bonnet open. Lucky I did, or the guard would...

Request: Black Clio with tinted windows.

Used to have quite dark tints myself. Liked the privacy they provide but never did love the inevitable van look. Some shots with and without tints:

    Your car in the Snow...

Not huge amounts of the white stuff up here. But the weather has nonetheless been quite nippy, ranging from 10 to 20 below freezing for a few weeks now. Studded tires are the biz. :rasp:

    Clio Prilliams

Beautiful! Really liking the rat-look of it. The uglier the better, absolutely. BUT... I would definately polish up all the bits out of sight that make it move. It would make a fabulous contrast between a run down outside and beautifully finished (out of sight) top notch mechanicals. How...

    steering wheel re-trim

Oh ok, Unfortunately can't name any other names but there must be dozens of car upholstery companies in UK. Pick up the yellow pages and do a search. I recommend going to the best one you can find. Steering wheel upholstery is never going to be cheap as it is a quite laborous and demanding job...

    alcantara roof lining (pics inside)

Nice work! Dang you. I was planning on leaving the roof lining alone on mine, but this tread definately got me thinking. :D My lower dash, including steering column and centre console, will be Alcantarized™ during this winter. Have already consulted some professional upholsterers and gotten...

anyone wired up courtesy lights in the footwells?

I wish. Haven't had the time yet. Got some handy looking snap-on splice clips for the wiring though.

anyone wired up courtesy lights in the footwells?

Propably yes. Will have to find out where these wires lurk. They should run somewhere along the door frame. Took a look at the lights I bought. Seems ok. Hopefully they are brighter than the ones you used Jez. After all, they were advertised as "Super Bright". Here's one of the...

    Awsome Broadband Speed!

I just love being at work. And yes, it's even faster outside rush hours. :D As for the original topic... Just as the few examples here, most of the ADSL-problems I've seen, have been caused by faulty/old cabling somewhere between the DSL-modem and the nearest DSLAM. Most often within the...

anyone wired up courtesy lights in the footwells?

Well, took the plunge and picked up two sets of white led strips while visiting the local automotive supermarket. These have 12 leds each, fixed to an waterproof strip of tape(ish) material with adhesive on other the side. They are extremely slim, only about 3mm high (25cm in length). Let's see...

anyone wired up courtesy lights in the footwells?

I've also been thinking of doing just that. Been looking at some 12V led-strips to do the actual illumination but would need help to figure out the wiring. I guess one could splice the wires to the above head courtesy light and draw power from there. Any electricians aboard?

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Not only nice cars, but nice peeps as well. :D Thanks. I'm just so stoked to have my own RS. Never thought I'd have a chance to. As I said, been mostly driving mundane ones. Töölössä asustan. (Translation: Q: What part of Helsinki? A: I live in Töölö)...

Cheers Laura. Thanks Paul. Nice to be here. Wasn't a big fan of the wheels myself at first. I actually tried to bargain them of the deal, but wouldn't get a good enough price... But they kind of grow on you. I quite like em now. Will defo get a second set for the winter though...

...No, not Scotland, Finland. :D Just joined the club, and still a bit shaken. It all started this July. I had promised myself something nice for my 30th b-day, but never had it crossed my mind that "something nice" would end up being a 2004 RS 182 in black, my first car. I've actually grown...
