Im not totally disagreeing with you fella but I owned an EP3 for a few years and being a memeber on vtec forums and going to meets etc I know plenty of EK9 owners, Ive raced quite a few EK's and always won in sprints....Especially at higher speeds, EK9's are deffo better on the twisties...
Ek9's dont do 0-60 under 6 seconds either, an EP3 in a drag race with the older EK9 would wn easily....In the bends though the EK9 would leave the EP3.
EK9's are 185 bhp fella, EP3's are 200....Well 196 really.
I doubt the 1.6 civic this thread is about is an EK9 because the young lad at the garage would have said its a Type R. It was more likely to have been an EK4 VTI or an EP2 Sport, I doubt any of these wuld keep up with a 1*2 tbh.
It all depends mate, I reckon I can get around 2.5k for my seat and could put maybe 500 to make it 3k....could wait a few months and spend more but im soooo bored with my current car, I'll only keep the clio a year tops anyway as I like to change alot and try new different cars.
