Good point! I hadn't thought of that...
Very true! The car looks great overall and drives much better than my old one! It's completely standard too so it's like a lovely blank canvas :D
Cool, thanks.
Just wanted to check it needed doing. Didn't realise the age was as important as the miles if it hadn't really been driven much.
Looks like I'll be making a purchase :D
So I'm looking to buy a second 172 Cup, and went to see another one last week.
All looked good, except I noticed it had a cambelt change at only 16000 miles. Seems a bit low?
I'm not the most clued-up person when it comes to cambelts, but thought a cambelt change would be needed at about...
Certainly has, the investigation is underway. Going up on the ramp very shortly!
Nothing to indicate this! Difficult to hear anything untoward with all the 'normal' rattles of a 172 Cup. And no smell of burning plastic or rubber. Guess the only way to tell would have been to notice it while...
Funny thing is, it went straight through its MOT last month
It's been on there over at least 6 months. Been under it plenty of times and never noticed this before. Could be a recent problem I guess.
Looks like it could have been rubbing the inside wheel arch. No problems on the other side though, which is slightly worrying! Could be a tracking issue :dapprove:
Noticed the car was feeling a bit wobbly on the way home from work, thought it might just be a strong motorway sidewind. Get home and turns out it was a rear passenger side puncture. Not a massive bother, got the day off tomorrow anyway to get it sorted...
So decided to take the wheel off...
Just goes to show how a small mistake could potentially have a devastating consequence! We're all guilty of it at some point though, it's all a learning experience. Just remember it could have been worse :)
How fast were you going? Shame you haven't got a pic of the damage to the Focus.
From the sound of things, I'd go down the insurance route too. On the up side, yours doesn't look too bad, especially if you can sort it out yourself.
Black 182 behind me into Cambourne at about half 5 yesterday evening. Went straight over on the roudabout when I went left to Morrisons.
Belong to anyone on here?
Hi everyone,
Had my 172 cup for a couple of years now, and have finally got a good enough job to have a bit of spare cash to make a few well chosen mods :)
Looking forward to getting involved in the forums and sharing clio experiences with the rest of you.
Anyone around Cambridge may...
