Yeah, its an immobiliser. I found out by accident when my mate was messing around in my car and turned it. I was there for about 10 minutes trying to start the car before i figured what had happened! :p
Damn! I was hoping that there was an easy fix... I dont think im gona be able to afford another set of components. I wonder if i can just get a new woofer direct from infinity or something? Or can you just buy one way 13cm speakers...?
Ive got some infinity kappa components in my doors at the moment. The grill on the passenger side fell off when someone slammed the door and i realised that the speaker was badly cracked. It looks as tho someone has kicked it when they were getting out.
Is there any way of getting it...
It will be strong enough to hold the speakers, but it may vibrate and buzz when you get some sound through them. Thats the reason why people have MDF shelves. You could try without and if needs be reinforce it later?
The safety alerts let you know when school are coming up and stuff.
I thought the congestion jobbie was for the congestion zone in London and the road angel told you when you were about to enter??
the cheapest pioneer you have there imo looks sh*t, if you do want a pioneer unit then id go for the middle one. Otherwise get an alpine cos theyre AWESOME
Just wondering can I do this and is it easy enough to do. I was told by someone that it would just bolt on, but im not too sure if he was just talking crap? Also even if it does fit, would the engine run ok afterwards? I mean im guessing the fuelling needs to be changed but would it...
OK, ive been thinking about it and was looking at mounting the stereo horizontal but it would have to stick out quite far to clear the heater controls. So then i thought about the glove box at an angle? I dunno if it will just be too much hastle?
OK i can get one of these pretty cheap:

bearing in mind i have a mk1 and the position of the stereo. Do you reckon itd go in...
Well worth amping the front speakers. What h/u is it?? Some of them have crap amps in them anyway. As for teh rear speakers its up to you, depends whether youre worried about the rear passengers. Personally i wouldnt bother :)
Calm down!!!! It did happen to me just before christmas, i had the h/u ripped out while the alarm was going off!! But theres no point getting arsey about it now.
