Firstly apologies for the question I am going to ask, probably the most ridiculous question you have all heard!..But I'm under no illusion I don't know squat about cars! Anyway the uppermost light on my tail light doesnt work, and I for the life of me cannot find what it is used for, my...
Based in S.E London buddy, near Dartford.
And Dan, what have you heard mate? Was a little wary of the price, but seems about right according to Stava...?
All, my car's cambelt is now due (way overdue!), I have been quoted £179.95 for the cambelt change through MrClutch and at the same time will also get a major service, quoted at £144.95, also by MrClutch. Service price sounds reasonable, however for the cambelt change, is that TOO cheap? Should...
Established what the problem was, a couple of pins in the connector were bent and likewise a pin in the headlamp was also bent! it now slots in, but upon further inspection, I've found that the rotating motor type thing which connects to the passenger headlamp which adjusts the direction of the...
Tidyclio, many thanks for your reply. Yeh I have to hold it in HARD in order for it to work. Can that particular connector be replaced, i.e. can I just pull the wires out which run into it and stick into another replacement connector? Not too keen on having to replace the whole headlamp when it...
A little problem here people. Long story short, my passenger side headlamp gave up its ghost yesterday. No light from either of the beams, fogs or amber flasher. So took it to a local garage, fella said I need a new headlamp (£60. approx?) and then he'd charge me £50 to fix it. Anyway not...
All, as per title, just noticed my 3rd brake light is out on my Clio Mk2 2002. Will I have to replace the entire break light including casing (Renault Parts Direct sells it for approx. £27), or can I just take out and replace the bulbs (filament or led?)?
Help would be much appreciated.
Thanks...
Yeah fair point Gally. I suppose we can't stop all of nature's elements (along with for example my stupidity!), damaging car paintwork. Well at least now I know what NOT to do. All down to effort, more you put in the more you get out. I will resurrect this thread next Sunday when I will post...
Didnt end too well no...but its not over yet! By the way, when I mean "brush", I mean brushes such as those with soft wavy threads!? Anywhoo, if there are scratches (I'll inspect tonight when I get home from work), what can be done to combat this guys!?
Ok so would the SRP and EGP do the trick? I just wanted to wash my car so much yesterday (wow how sad am I!), even if it meant having to resort to the Jet Wash. No more Morrisons jet wash then!
Thanks Emma. As promised I said I would post before and after pics of my SRP/EGP application over the weekend, but as its now Monday and I haven't so apologies, I had a lot of personal issues at home, dad fell ill, so a lot of driving to the hospital.
I did however get the chance to give the...
That's correct sir! And onto the reall nitty grity now, not so much a detailing question, but a car exterior one...do I need to make any alterations to my Clio Mk2 Ph2 (arches, suspension, etc) if I want to put 15" alloys/wheels onto it, it is currently on 14". many thanks.
Haha ok, here goes, continuing on the theme of getting sucked in...

Cool thanks JD, pretty much what I was planning on doing (bar the "x2"!). I've clayed already, so will crack on on Sunday. Thank you guys! And yes it is a damned evil hobby, wife complains how I wash/detail the car every 2 weeks! Some people just dont understand do they! ;)
Hehe very true JD. To be honest I have just started out on the detailing road, but as you mentioned, it can be a very slippery slope in the respect that it can be time and money intensive. To sum it up, I am after a look/protection/etc for the amount of effort I am willing to put in,vice versa...
Apologies Ali, I know there have been a few SRP/EGP threads as of late, but none that answered my question specifically, well none that I could find! Thank for your advice Gally. And yeah please do let me know what the outcome Emma is , much obliged.
Gally, the car is Gris Boreal 02 plate, all I am looking for is a glassy super shine, I was under the impression EGP can do this...? I'll get some pics up over the weekend of before and after. I'll be doing it all by hand, don't trust myself with a polisher to be honest. So according to yourself...
Hello all,
Quick question...I polished my Clio around 4 weeks ago using Megs Deep Crystal Step 2 Polish, followed up with a wax. Car is now immaculate, even after all the rain it still beads great and still sparkling. Anyway after reading so many rave reviews on here re. SRP and EGP, I'll be...
Hi all, as title says, all of a sudden my interior reading/map light has stopped working. Doesnt even work when doors are opened or when switched on. Is this just a matter of popping it out and looking at the bulbs?
Many thanks.
Hello all, apologies if this has been asked previously, but a search proved fruitless. Anyway recenty got my Clio Mk2 colour coded, it does so much improve the appearance of the car, will post pics of it before and after on Saturday once I have given it a proper wash and clean. My question is...
I polished my Clio Mk2 using Megs Polish last Saturday, so around 5 days ago, I then topped it off with Nano-Tech Wax (I know not the best, but it's allI had to hand). It came out with an amazing glass finish to the car, I checked by running my hand over the whole car and it was so smooth...
Well I had another guy come round last night to look at my Clio and he gave me a quote for around £400-£450 to the above said works. That's a great jump on the £200 quoted to me by my local garage. He mentioned that there is no way in hell that the works could be carried out for £200 without...
