do you mean the ends or the actually rack arms themselves? i did reach in and gave it a tug back and forth,didnt seem to have play in it is there any way i can check to see if this is wots wrong?

someone mentioned it could be the track rod ends i doubt its the balljoints as i had them and the wishbones replaced less than 6 months ago any other ideas?

help! ive had this knocking noise coming from my passenger front wheel area for a fair while and the otherday i jacked it up to inspect it and noticed that if i hold the wheel at 9 and 3 oclock and push and pull it,it has about 3-4mm of movement and it feels knotchy?it doesnt do this if i hold...

this has been goin on for far to long and needs sorting! when i close the s/roof and it pulls down on the rubber it makes a brrrrrrrrrrr noise and vibrates and doesnt seem to seal properly and whisles really badly when i get upto 70mph,seems to also jump when you shut the door anyone got any...

i have noticed ive got alot of play in the steering on my 16v,i mean you can turn the wheel from 11 oclock to 1 oclock and the wheels wont move!this is starting to get abit scary now especially at high speed,theres also a knocking/rumble when i turn right and feels like something may be moving...

right just spoke to renault and the mount is gona be £36 and the bolt that goes through the middle is £12! £12 i say for a bloody bolt!:cry:

bad news ive phone GSF and they havnt got any of the mounts i need and they have no date set for delivery of any so it might have to be renault :(

right heres the update just had a closer look and its actually the mount under the battery that has gone ive took it off and the bolt that goes through the rubber piece has snapped clean off gona try and remove it now could the movement from the worn dogbone mount cause this to happen? does...

ive already had a look at the engine and the mount,the engine doesnt move anymore then it did when you rock it and doesnt seem to have moved,the dogbone is tilting slightly down towards the floor at the front of the car end but other than that looks fine?????????:confused: :(

ok lads cheers so how can i go about checking if the dogbone is fuked then and how hard is it to replace?
