Yes that's it, you have got it spot on, just a turbo bolted to it, is that how you do it just bolt a turbo to it, I wish I knew this before the pistons, rods ,intercooler, ecu, injectors, fuel pumps, clutch, diff, exhaust, engine mounts one off turbo unit ahh thats it the turbo unit it just bolt...
Hi
I wanted to keep the car as standard looking as possible so the routes I have taken is to keep this in mind so I went for high carbon discs and carbon lorraine g6 pads so that it looks standard and I have not had one single issue with the brakes no fade and I brake very hard and late and has...
Hi,
It was built mainly for track days in mind, it has been over engineered that's why it cost me so much to build, all this speculation and the first person to see and test drive will buy as its a fantastic bit of kit, you cant even tell its been played with, then when you plant it you cant...
Hi,
The car has been built with reliability as the main concern, the only problem the car has come across is 1 boost pipe kept blowing off, this has now been sorted with bespoke item, its not the norm build, its running the megane turbo unit. It has been very reliable as it was serviced often...
Hi, it was me with the Turbo trophy, it was the torque that did the dog bone but it was Reno sport that got me out of trouble, they had a spare standard dog bone off one of their twingos, a big thanks to them as you cant plan a part like that failing, other than that the car ran faultless and it...
Hi Matt,I think you know me and I know you mum and dad, if its you I'm thinking of I spoke to your dad the other Sunday and he told me you sold you subaru and got a clio, I lived across the road from you, I'm Darren who had the tommi mak evo, I know of another trophy owner in town but he works...
Just to let you know, I have owned a williams 3 clio and out of all the cars I have owned it was best car I have ever owned and I don't want to sound a dick but I'm nearly 40 and owned nearly every hot hatch made and a couple of Evos a 2 year old tommi mak etc, and its only 2 years ago that sold...
Hi, I was going to take this route but I am trying neg rear shims and front camber bolts as I have found out that there are too many other issues with lowering springs and atb so i'm tring this first then atb later, Cheers Darren
Hi,Brimington,I only use it in summer months and only when its dry,it looks standard apart from the exhaust, which I had to have as the standard one was too small in diameter to take the power, you can't even tell that there is an intercooler there, Cheers Darren
Hi, I am very hard and late on my brakes and do give them a hard job but out of all the set ups I'v had on my track cars this is the best set up I'v had for feel, bite and fade, to be fair there has been no fade at all, I had a conversation with Sean at K tec and told him the problems I'v had...
Fine at moment with bolts, but if I want more, rods and pistons, then I can run a lot more boost and timing, to be honest its too much now, cheers Darren
It's not been easy, 182 engine, megane rods pistons,Ktecs hybrid megane turbo, its 335hp and 400lb torque and it only running at 1.2 bar of boost with no lag, all home built, the car will be on Ktecs stand at the French car show in June at Donnington and it looks standard total stealth, cheers...
Well it just seems too much roll, as even running 15" slicks and quaife diff its lifting one wheel too much and spinning up, but then again I might be expecting too much as its running 400lb of torque!!!!!!
Does anyone know of any company that does lowering springs for the Clio Trophy? As when i'm on the track there's too much body roll, even on the hardest setting on my shocks.
Cheers Darren
Hi, got to admit, when it comes on boost it is savage, it felt like my 400 hp evo, bearing in mind that developed 391lb @ 1.8 bar of boost and clio is only 1.2 bar
K tec stage 1 hybrid, but there is a reason for this, on the build I damaged a couple of fins on the veins on the standard turbo and it was a £100 more for a hybrid so for the sake of a hundred quid and more power for same boost levels I had to do it.
Hi, yes ARP rod bolts, I have been advised that if I go for rod and pistons I will be able to run @ 1.5 bar BUT because of the torque it produces it would run about 350hp and over 400lb of torque and the box wont like that sort of torque so I am in two minds to do this as I will be tracking it...
I did it myself, when I wasn't sure Sean Martin at k tec gave me advice but it wasn't straight forward as they didn't know anyone who had done it with the megane turbo unit, I was always after low end torque that the modern megane turbo gave and jesus it pulls out of the corners hard with no lag...
At last it's took a year but its almost ready,k tec did their magic yet again, the only turbo clio k tec know of that still uses the vvt engine with the megane turbo, its not been easy but the results even took the guys at k tec by surprise, the car had a mapping session last week on their brand...
