Im not even going to start a debate about the TT, simply isnt worth my energy. Ok they are a good, reliable car but they are 10 a penny and a nice "safe" car. They simpy shouldnt be mentioned in the same breath as an EVO or 255. See, wasted too much time and effort already!
If I didnt need...
The 5s just sit so well, very squat.
Danny, what about the BB Peformance 16v turbo conversion kit, a snip at £5400 fitted?? Best of both worlds then. Pushes out over 200BHP at the wheels, so must be 230BHP at the fly. Youd have some fun with the torque steer!
Lee, are you not tempted to drive 312.5 miles one way then turn round and do the same! :D I would..
Talking of seats, did you not fancy the Recaro option? Ive been told they sit 10mm lower than the std seats. Pity you cant have the kit with the std rear seats though instead of the Dynamique ones.
The Gordini doesnt do it for me, I remember them when they were the hot hatch to own (age showing) and even then they were rare. The lag on an 80s design turbo engine must have been massive. I think the GTT is the one for me, give me a nice blue Raider any day.
If you get the Recaro option its the Dynamique rear seats thatll be substituted for the std 182 interior, apparently the Recaros sit 10mm lower than the original seats which would make it a far better driving position IMO..felt a little too high for me. TBH Renault knew nothing about the Recaro...
Actuallly the cars supplied bby buymynewcar are NOT imports. They are sourced from the same place Reanult UK get all their cars from are go through the same CAT UK process as any import car when coming into this country. The only difference is they will be pre registered, if youre keeping it...
Fook me, stories like these really make me angry! What are the dealers playing at, do they think you have shelled out on a new pair of shoes rather than saving your hard earned cash for months before purchasing, in some cases, your first new car..then they go and put the plates on wonky and...
Matt C, I presume your 172 is not std then? If it was then the 16v would be all over you like a rash, mine certainly would. Give me the RS Focus anyday, it would also be worth something in a few years too.
It has been said that the Williams is quote "Gods own hot hatch"
Swervin, if EVO ever did that article it would be fannytastic. You could pitch the 205 1.9 gti against the valver, owned both and Id say the valver was the more predictable car handling wise.
I read this in EVO magazine, they voted it joint second with the Lotus Exige for best car of 2004, the 997 came first. They say it is old skool hot hatch thrills, none of the test drivers could believe how much fun it was to drive. "No over or understeer, it just grips and goes". It made me...
A 172 will seem ballistic especially compared to 1.2s, some people dont like them because they are too understated, but to me thats a plus. Youll be smiling for weeks once youve floored it a few times.....I still love my 16v and Ive had it 2 years now.
I been having this dilemma for weeks now but have more or less decided on the 182 over the CTR for sheer bang for your bucks and the fun factor. If you get a rattle on the 182 just take it in to be fixed. ST170 and Puma dont come close IMHO. A 2 year old CTR would be in your budget .
Youre...
Nothing listed for this when I searched on it so here goes.
If I bought a 182 new would I be able to get the servicing done from a local independant Renault specialist without invalidating the warranty? They use genuine Renault parts not after market jobbies.
Ta, Pk.
What a car, could honestly look at that picture all day and not get sick of it! Out of the 3 colours I prefer the black, but to be boring and practical it would have to be the blue..even over the red.
The new Mini is defo going to be a turbo, the S works is 230BHP not the std S. Autocar had a 4 page article on it a few weeks back, the Z axle will go as it takes it too much room which will allow for more/some rear leg room. The supercharger is going mainly because of the new pedestrian...
