I never did a direct comparison vs OEM NVH levels but I seem to remember it was dramatically better than the power flex that was in previously. One thing, they were leagues ahead in terms of build quality vs OEM.
Lol at @Louis, 😅
She certainly wasn’t a garage queen and I tried to prolong it as much as possible. Even with those rear qtrs coated in Hydrate 80, full of BH Electrox zinc coating and Dynax, I guess it only prevents the inevitable if the cars are used.
Interesting you’re finding the rear...
I had a PMS with decat and a stock cat. The stock cat is already a high flow cat so I don’t personally see any reason to fit an aftermarket sports cat.
i swapped the whole lot including the 197/200 master cylinder. Big improvement in feel and stopping power.
Full PMS 280mm 2 piece kit with Pagid RSL29. Its worth noting I had RSL29s in the stock calipers too.
Get the speakers mounted solid and add the mini Focal amp. I had one in my 182 glove box and coupled to my Alpine HU, it drives them really well.
Some pics of my install when I did it. It’s a 450W 4 ch amp that fits in the palm of your hand!
The issue with having a fabric/strap-mounted receiver is its a pain to plug the belt in as you're forced to hold the receiver with your other hand. This can be awkward. Always use a firm cable or suitable bracket-mounted receiver if possible.
Personally I much preferred the design and location of the PMS bar. The Whiteline always looks like a cheap afterthought IMO.
Just my thoughts, entirely your choice mate.
The WL is certainly much easier to remove at a later date.
Maybe ask yourself what you want from the car and if you feel...
Came up last time I checked but I’ll call RPD or similar and reconfirm its fitment. Last check in 2015 it was £650 plus VAT. 😂
Thanks for the estimate on arms too. Perhaps I’ll sit on em for another 10 years and cash em in as a pension.
Odd one I guess as it’s not a car, but I’ve been sifting through some odds and ends I have collected over the years and found a pile of new bits a pieces. All of this has been wrapped and boxed in the roof of the garage. Some of which is NLA.
One item is a genuine 172 (and 182 I believe) new...
Granted I’m bias, but go drive one and you’ll know why you want one.
They drive like nothing else I’ve driven.
Better than a 981 to drive imo and more exciting than the 718 GT4 and Spyders I’ve tried too. The newer cars are in a different league when comparing their refinement, cabin and spec...
Had mine for 8 years now - C16 UK car, manual, carbon buckets, short shifter, extended alcantara trim, sport chrono and a few mods to make it a bit quicker on track.
Only 350bhp but 1290kg and it drives like nothing else. There’s nothing short of a GT3 I’d trade it for.
I know what you mean, but if you think about anyone in for a 200bhp turbo hot hatch at £7k, they will all go Mk7 Fiesta ST. Faster (in most cases), more developed chassis, newer, more reliable, blah blah blah.
I was always tempted to turbo my 182 but after driving a few, it just wasn't for me...
Probably the price and that 99.99% of Clio owners want to buy second hand wipers and pre owned pollen filters.
Everyone else at that money will just be buying a Fiesta ST.
