UCH is the body control unit... Its the black box above the passengers left foot.. And you don't want to even think about the cost of replacing! :/ Unlikely needs that though
Wow thats funky!
Ages ago (and I mean ages) a few people fitted custom made global close kits to their car.. Wonder if this is a side effect?
Just looked on the forum and previously its been found to be a UCH fault when its gotten wet? Checked that?
Check for play in the tie roads, then checking for play in the wishbones and the condition of the bushes? Mine didn't make the noise until I changed the wishbone and disturbed the bush!
Saw a thread 100% the same as this a while back, turned out the guy had a broken front spring (was moving as...
Hi Guys,
I know this has been asked plenty of times before, but hoping for some fresh ideas maybe!
Car (182) keeps going into LIMP mode, with the coil light and the EML on. My code reader is picking up 'P0120 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "A" Circuit'.
I've removed the white plug...
Had this after changing a wishbone. Greased up the wishbone ARB bush and it went away.
Best way to describe the noise I've heard is 'flicking an empty biscuit tin' - sound about right?
They don't 'silly' lower it... I wasn't 100% sold on the idea of lowering my 182 on cooksports but the springs needed changing anyway... Ride height is literally 20mm lower, and the wheels don't go into the arches at all, its literally spot on! Could not think of a better upgrade for 144 quid...
Just a thought - has anyone got an exploded diagram (or something similar) of how the front wishbone attaches? Just wondering if I've done something stupid like put a washer in the wrong place!
Changed the dampers for new genuine ones at the same time as fitting the Cooksports and pure motorsport solid top mounts..
@GCC drop links? I didn't think these cars had any as the ARB clamps directly onto the bottom of the wishbone? Unless its possible that thats moving and causing the noise...
Renault Wolverhampton in the traders section is your best bet for Renault parts.. Otherwise try looking at the for sales for some second hand springs like Cooksports or Eibach.. A full set will probably be the same as 1 spring from renault (plus you should ideally replace anything suspension...
I'm having the exact same problem - exactly the same noise and only started since i changed the wishbone.. Drivers side though.
Springs are 3 month old cooksports... guys is there anything else that could be causing it? As @andy_con said, it sounds like a clunk as something moves one way, then...
Cheers @Tommyd22 .. hopefully it won't need a new pump, haven't noticed any strange noises but I'll get someone to whilst I have my head under the bonnet I think!
And @Bear Head they we're the first thing I checked, 33psi front 30psi rear.. If only life we're that easy! :-)
Hi Guys,
Recently fitted Pure Motorsport Solid top mounts, Cooksports and new dampers all round to my 182 (non cup packed). Also had a new track rod arm fitted.
Had it laser aligned, and its even though the toe is -0.8 on both sides, its pulling left.. Braking/accelerating/dawdling makes...
Don't worry about it being late, its still an issue I'm having!
It had belts and dephaser done less than 6 months ago.. And Mick @ Diamond didn't notice any issues...
I've learnt to live with it now to be honest!
Hi Guys,
Bit strange this, not sure if its just me!
I've found lately that when I steer from lock to lock quickly whilst moving slowly with the clutch down (trying get up a very small section of dropped kerb on a busy main road without smacking a tyre!), the car tries to stall, with the RPM...
That looks amazing! I've got a leather retrimmed one in mine but no idea who did it - was on the car when I got it!
How much did that set you back dare I ask?
I've just changed the rear discs + pads on mine... My car came with every recipient under the sun, no mention of rear pads/discs...
Discs literally broke with a gentle tap of the hammer to remove them from the spindle, pads down to the metal... Not bad for 138K! Might have been done at some...
Also looks like the previous owner is still on here? Maybe follow up? http://www.cliosport.net/threads/my-old-car-inferno-182-cup-nl05-ueg-in-kirkstall.759897/
Hot start issue is commonly to do with TDC sensor.. or rather the wiring on the sensor connector... Renault released a new design sensor with a over engineering new plug and the new plug wiring harness - you chop the old one off and wire the new one on..
I had the same hot start issue as you...
This one for me!

Properly rate Cygnett cases - had one on my 5 for 2 years, still looked nearly brand new when I sold it one a few weeks ago, and I'm really not gentle with my phone!
