If people are lucky to see 30hp out of Throttle Bodies, It's highly unlikely that exhasut/panel filter and some engine rework is going to see anything but a few hp gain in power a better noise and possibly a better throttle responce and smoother idle/acceleration.
Bang for buck, in a clio imo...
£70 and i can get 130hp out of my 1.3 cdti. Thing is it's like polishing a turd, it's not really going to make any noticeable performance is it. Its stilla 1.3 diesel same as its still a clio diesel :O
If you want that, buy yourself a german barge. Sorted :)
a4/passat/octavia/bora/320d etc etc List is endless, Can recomend an octavia fantastic cars for the money :P
Same engione comes in corsa C's mate, would pay around 2k for one on a 54ish plate. Dont get me wrong i hate vauxhalls to, god knows i work for them. And know that they arent fantastic, but they are just so cheap to repair and run. if you have to go french, try a 306hdi. They have the lowest...
Try not to forget that with drilling the air box OR with an open induction kit, you will experience some sort of heat soak. It's more than likely going to decrease performance and increase fuel usage. Simply because the noise is good yes? so more foot down action.
Personaly i'd suggest you...
People will hate me for this, but if your gonna be looking at small engined hatches or a diesel. Personally for that money i know you can get something that would likely outlast/perform and get better mpg out off than a clio. I'm Currently getting 70mpg + from my 1.3 cdti vauxhall corsa. As a...
Personally, if i cant find a hybrid i like or a williams in the next month or so. Im going to buy the absoloute best shell i can (valver). Get the track of the willy, Grab coilovers and then find a meggane 2.016v to molest. I desperatly want the original turbines though in white :-) bet they are...
He was running good tyres admitadly. I cant see it being all down to them, personaly i run uniroyal rainsports on anything performance, i love the way they feel :)
Silly question but how does your mk1 (with 172 running gear) perform, assuming its lighter than a mk2 so i expect you give them a run for there money!
I am going to have to go out in a williams and then my friend with the 182 has said i can play with his, after that it's buying time :)
Thanks for the advice Stevo. I understand the 182 i was out in last night has been fettled with and is as ridgid as ron jeremy with a few viagras in him. I'm gonna go mk1 hyrbid/williams then :) Is there much following of the MK1's here? havent seen hardly anything yet :-(
Loved my ph1 19 16v, Was absoloutly epic, unfortuantly it died a death but after much punishment!
That's when you could pick up good ones for under £500 :) The good ole days of second hand motoring!
Well since i last drove a clio 16v/williams were talking 5-6 years :P... I remember em being well sorted but what i was in last night was biblical around corners. Perhaps im not doing the mk1 any justice here and perhaps need to throw one about and determine what the actual difference is. Either...
Basically as per my newbie post, long time renault entusiast, From 5's/19's to clios/meggy. I have had them all in 1 way or another. Im old skool first and formost, so have never owned a newer renault (172/182 etc). I have had the clio 16v and played with a williams. Both handle very nicely...
Hi Guys,
Have owned most things renaut in the years i have been driving (5's 19's clio's megane's). Always however prefered and loved the clio mk1 16vs and williams. After going out in a friends 182 yesterday at a cliosport meet. I couldnt believe just how well they eat up b roads. To the point...
