Thanks gents! It's completely standard bar an RS192 exhaust, cooksport springs and a snappy steering wheel. It even has the original mats (with single rear) and original front splitter.
All ready for the winter now! Washed, Iron-X'd, Washed again, Clayed, washed a third time then two-stage machine polished and finally given a coat of Dodo Blue Velvet wax. Really happy with the results, all the swirls are gone and it shines beautifully in the sun. Only just ticked over 56k miles...
Bloke, sorry you're quite right, it's not a circlip, I'm not thinking straight :S
Chris, yep just checked, it's come off the other end. I'm such a muppet, it's so obvious. I just assumed it was somehow off the gearbox end.
Time to jack it in and look at it in the morning!
Thanks Chris, that's really helpful. It's all back together now but I've just gone and checked the car and there's a drip of gearbox oil on the boot next to the jubilee clip, so I'll go and get the proper CV clips as you suggest. It looks exactly like your 2nd and 3rd images.
The only snag is...
Guys, I've had a really crap day with the Clio and would appreciate some advice. I've been changing the n/s lower ball joint which was a total b**ch and has taken hours. Despite my best efforts and trying not to let it happen, the driveshaft popped out of the gearbox and pissed it's gearbox...
Silver 182, 55 plate near Shrivenham yesterday, you passed my whilst I was on road bike a couple of times.
RB 182, 05 plate in Uffington today, stopped by the side of the road. Great to see another, it's been ages since I last saw one.
Mine took ages to get right! As above, I used the powerflex mounts in the original castings and several penny washers as spacers between them and the chassis and it now lines up really nicely. With the original hangars on there was no chance. My only gripe is the RH pipe sticks out 5 mm more...
My silver Honda Civic Type R FN2 is for sale on PistonHeads here and eBay here
It is unmodified, HPI clear with a full year's MOT and a Full Honda Service History. It has the factory fitted LSD and is in excellent condition throughout.
If anyone's looking for a new GPU, a mate of mine just told me about this deal from Overclockers on the Sapphire Radeon Fury NITRO 4GB. It's been reduced from £470 to only £299. Seems like a good deal...
Thanks all, I'm really pleased with the 182
Steve, funny you should mention EP3s, I did look seriously at them but I was put off by the fact I couldn't find a really decent, well looked after one in the time I was looking, and also reading the reviews it seemed (almost) like a sideways...
Back in February, after having my lovely, low mileage 172 for almost 5 years, I decided to sell it as I fancied a change and I'd always wanted to try a Honda Civic Type R. The car was sold to @AdamB182 and I found a really well kept 2010 Civic FN2. Six months later the FN2 is up for sale and I'm...
If anyone is interested in sim racing and has a copy of rFactor 2, I help to run a sim racing league (which has been going over 3 years now) and we are always happy to accept new drivers. We have around 15 regular members and there are usually 8-10 of us on track on our race nights which are on...
Spotted going south towards Lambourn, Berks this afternoon about 4pm. I was going the other way in the yellow Caterham. I didn't wave as I had my hands full at the time!
Selling my Gibson Les Paul Studio and my Marshall Class 5 Valve Amp, which was modified by Rat Amps. Both in excellent condition and for sale due to lack of use. PM if you have any questions.
Great morning this morning at Jaguar HQ, Gaydon with PH. Lots of Clios in attendance, loved the red trophy with gold 2118s, and the blue Mk2 V6 was lovely too. Shame no-one was around their cars when I walked round as I would have said hello :D
Took lots of pictures so I'll stick some up later on.
Well it's been a while since I joined CS so I'll put up a few details on my Phase 2 Clio 172 daily driver. It was bought privately in September 2011 for £2000 with 44k miles, FSH, new OEM exhaust and in very good condition for it's age. It had a stack of paperwork with it, good history with...
Yeah, I think sub 1.20s would easily be achievable. 80kg of passenger makes a huge difference in a 520kg car! Plus this year I'm running about 185bhp vs 165bhp and when I get the car dry sumped later this year I can go to full slicks instead of the (reasonably sticky) road tyres too. All those...
