Tbh if all you want to do is retrieve a fault code and reset engine management light then an elm scan for about 15 quid of ebay will do this. However it will only reset eobd (engine shaped light) not the heart monitor light usually.
no no no they are not badly fitted lambo doors they are badly fitted clio doors......in fact they are n't badly fitted they are like that to feed the air to the passenger compartment. At precisely 77mph the wind turbulence in the passenger comparment will lift the weight of the passengers up ad...
there are 3 vosa weigh bridges within 10 miles of where i live and they are always out. They love having the drivers with trailers as they know that 9/10 times they will be over. They generally allow 5% over any more and they get your pants down!
Dependent on how much your over by the fine...
No harder than changing one in a clio.
Are you fitting a k4m to a r5 or does it already have one in and you want to take it out?
To fit the k4m the easiest way I have found is to use mounts off a 1.7 r5 or a diesel that bolt to the subframe, If using the clio gearbox the back mount needs to be...
have you checked the map sensor? try popping it out and giving it a clean with some brake cleaner. if there is crap getting in there or is clogged will caue all manner of faults. I had asimilar issue with a megane the other week had been to 3 different garages, came up with similar faults to...
Bad earth on the back light connection usually pop the back lights out and check all conections for corrosion clean and if necessary bend the pins a little so they make a better contact.
Don't go to renault they will charge silly money, If you can't get the box out yourself then find a local garage they will be half the price, either a second hand box or have yours reconditioned.
Another thing to check is that the solenoid isnt clogged and oil ways are clear. You have to remove the top half of the manifold and the solenoid is held in by a 10mm bolt undo this and the solenoid slides out check for blockages and crud in here clean as required. I have had a couple like this...
Cambelt on a clio sport is a 5.2 hour job, check what labour rate the garage is charging and you can work it out from there.
Most garages won't fit parts not supplied by them as they offer warranty based on the fact that their suppliers warranty the parts supplied and will pay the garage for...
Just thinking about this the sports do always idle lumpy for emissions purposes.
However you do say its only done it for the last few months, have you done the obvious like checked/changed the plugs etc?
with diagnostic equipment is the easiest way. If not you could check resistances/ voltages being produced by the temp sensor although difficult to explain unless you know what you are doing.
When clearing the fault codes are you doing it with the engine off or on?
Engine has to be off with ignition on to clear.
Check the wiring to the pencil coil this gives issues.
Also check carefully no.1 cylinder as 1 and 4 and 2 and 3 are generally linked so can throw you off.
No.4 is timing...
Injector screwed, failed open and been squirting fuel into cylinder constantly hence the black plug.
Seen this a couple of times before in extreme cases shorts and burns injector drivers and kills the ecu.
Had a megane in the other week with a similar problem, unplug the small plug on the back of the alternator see if this smooths out the idle.
Also check battery connections are tight and clean, then go through the earths on the engine block and the shell cleaning and greasing as you go. Sounds...
If its from cold then o2 sensor won't be doing much as ecu will be in open loop after it warms up a bit ecu will go into closed loop and start adjusting the mixture, this may be what you are experiencing as the improvement. Is the 02 sensor switching once warm?
Have you checked temp sensor...
I had a track day car once! a valver clio!
6 track days later.......
http://youtu.be/73b-JF9MwWs
Hence why you shouldnt spend money you can't afford to lose on track toys etc!
car was about 4 inches shorter both ends and had no lights and a banana shaped radiator but managed to get me 150 mile...
Ok I was being nice to this guy and giving some advice, which is what he asked for.
Instead of replying to advice hes more interested in upsetting people.
Clearly an arse!
Yes well bad advice from me then!!
No lsv etc means nasty brakes! I get it!
Not owned a 182 so wouldnt know tbh! :S
However removal of abs for a track car is definately recommended!
well I'm not well up on the exact specs of every car, But i wouldnt be havin abs or esp on any car I own and if its got it it gets removed!! I like to drive my car not be driven by it! lol!
This is gonna start another 57 posts or so about the specs of each vehicle now look what I gone and...
I have one if you want one! In fact I may have 2 or three!
One on my old rally car is in good nick!
Pm or reply on here and will sort a good price can post but would prefer pickup from near chester ch7 3ps post code.
Hehe this is hilarious.
Lsd yes it will improve cornering speeds, will need reasonably well sorted suspension and decent sticky tyres first though.
For track use on dry tarmac an lsd only wants setting quite loose anyway or will just cause massive understeer and you will be massively peed off...
I bought a mint phase 2 off a customer who needed the money for 1200 on a 52 with 80000 miles and full history belts etc all done! I only sold it for £1700 so there are some bargains out there to be had and that, quite frankly, isnt one!
You'd be into thousands by the time the front end is...
??? Doesnt need a link on lsv? why not?
Also As far as welding on wishbones It hasnt been repaired and significantly weakened by the welds has it? Therefore cannot be failed! I own an MOT station and have thorough knowledge of the book!
However load sensing valve linkage missing is a...
Try cleaning the plug connections on the throttle housing, crank sensor, coil, pedal sensor, and map sensor. Also check the ecu plug connections for corrosion clean and refit. Had exactly the same problem with a 172 2002 last week and it was corrosion on the ecu plug terminals. Could be a broken...
Well I'm only based in Buckley which is about as far as llandudno is from you.
I have a scope! And the knowledge to use it! Also have clip.
If you still have no joy with the other place look me up serviceyourcar.co.uk I will happily take a look. I am not one to guess at diagnostics and I am an...
Its usually the insurance company that requests that the car is re mot'd. You can have the car tested at any MOT station as every MOT station has to test to exactly the same standards.
Then you will need to go to your local vosa test centre pay for your vic in advance and book in. Waiting lists...
