Hi Clio forums people! My 172 has been told to go to the scrapheap in the sky by a local mechanic, he said I can pay him the £150 for collecting it and having a look / diagnosing, or he can scrap it for me to recoup his costs. I am wondering whether it's worth paying the money and scrapping it...

cool will grab this and cv gaiter then, I'm not sure whether to get the cheapy sparks from ecp compared to some ngk which are listed as £15 per plug :nono: might as well order 4 from ebay for £30! May get some disposable ones though temporarily.

re the misfiring hot exhaust, I have replaced an injector before which solved it for about 5 months, but it has started happening again. It's been on diagnostics which didnt show anything! waste of £60 :( All the mechanics who see it are saying coil pack and sparks

OEM wheels are in big need of a refurb, the last owner enjoyed kerbing the hell out of them! But I was planning on one set of alloys for summer (16/17's), one for winter (16's, or maybe 15's) with decent winter / all round tyres. Turini's is the common consensus, which is good cos I do like...

Also, still uncertain whether to stick with 16's or go to 17's, any recommendations on that?

well at the mo the speedo they wont know about unless they drive as it goes through diagnostics fine and lights up. The mile meter is still showing what it was on at the last MOT though, you reckon they'll kick up a fuss about it?

Does the MOT Cover Speedo and Odometer? at the mo, neither are working. I believe Speedo doesn't get covered by it but not sure about Odometer (mile counter). cheers!

just a note to say that adding on an extension for more leverage just mashed the head! Oh well, good job we were going to drill them out :o. have ordered an impact driver, but can't be arsed to wait for it!
