Does the MOT Cover Speedo and Odometer?

at the mo, neither are working. I believe Speedo doesn't get covered by it but not sure about Odometer (mile counter).

Unless the policeman sits in your car whilst driving it, he will never know.

OP, just use a satnav as a speedo?

Speedo is tested but only for presence and for it to light up. Mile ometer isn't.

Cool, I had heard a few places that Speedo wasn't checked, but couldn't find much about the odometer

I just made sure my Speedos were not in the car when i took it for MOT.

the problem is, without driving the car, theyll never know!

well at the mo the speedo they wont know about unless they drive as it goes through diagnostics fine and lights up. The mile meter is still showing what it was on at the last MOT though, you reckon they'll kick up a fuss about it?

Just make sure your mileage is different to the year befores mot lol

An MOT tester will drive the car though, even if you park it in the MOT bay, they still have to move it for a brake test.
