Some delightful fellow took it upon themselves to key down the side of my car whilst it was parked outside my girlfriend's house, so I'm looking for someone to sort that out for me. The front wing looks like the mark might be quite deep but I'm hoping the rest can get away with a correction as...
A few other small changes to appease the OCD. The 'elf' and 'cliosport' stickers in the rear window weren't aligned in any way whatsoever so I decided to get rid of the 'elf' badge. The cliosport sticker remains for the time being.

The Recaros already had renaultsport...
Yeah it's been a long time coming! I've wanted a renaultsport clio for ages and it's even better than I thought it would be!
Thanks,
I find the 197 style badge a lot more pleasing to the OCD eye haha. I couldn't be doing with the RENAULT part being all upper case, the sport part being all...
Car's come along really well mate! Loving the tasteful mods and keeping it looking fresh. I must ask though, which insurer are you with that'll let you do all these mods?!
Thanks for the feedback. I think they might suit darker coloured cars better as I loved the way the looked on the Odyssey dci.
Going to have to agree to disagree about the badge though, I think it looks a little more modern now personally.
A few non sport owners may recognise my name from one of my previous projects.
My car history is as follows:
Started with an Odyssey blue 1.2 16v ph2 clio which I bought standard but ended up looking like this when I was nearly finished with it:
I then bought an Odyssey blue dci80 with some...
Just removed the old-fashioned looking standard renaultsport badge from my boot and have a 197 style badge waiting to go on. I was just wondering what people used to make sure it was positioned correctly? Has anyone measured out where it should be to be sort of inline with the Clio badge on the...
I was thinking of just coming for the Saturday but I'd really like to do the parade lap on the Sunday. I'm tempted by the VIP weekender ticket due to the hog roast BBQ but what are people doing for food otherwise? Would we be alright to bring disposable BBQs and stuff? What's everyone else's...
Noticed on the drive home yesterday that I was lacking in power mid range. I used to be able to hear the turbo quite prominently (possibly due to boost leak) but now I can barely hear it at all and the car is very noticibly slower mid range, where it used to peak torque.
Runs fine apart from...
Could anyone suggest which tyres are best out of the following? I'm looking for good wet and dry performance and tread wear rates are also a factor. The tyres are all very similarly priced so that's not really a factor.
Pirelli Pzero GT
Continental Premium Contact 2
Michelin Pilot Sport 3
Cheers
Yeah that's right. Takes a bit of force to do it the first time, if you use some sort of tool to push them, cover it with a cloth so it doesn't scratch the paint.
It's very easy to pour ridiculous amounts of money into a non-sport clio. After doing it twice my recommendation would be not to start modding! However, no one would've been able to tell me otherwise so if you're looking for inspiration, have a look here...
A bit more progress today. I bought new discs (standard brembos), pads (Ferodo DS2500s) and brake fluid (DOT 4 Super blue) a while ago off G172 on here, and finally got them fitted today.
Haven't got around to trying them out to see if there's much difference as this was the brake set up...
I wouldn't bother with the tints personally. My car came with some fitted by the previous owner and I got them removed, looks much better now. I think the wheels look decent, but the yellow bits need to go in my opinion, especially the lower front grille and the rear drums. Just having the front...
I can't remember to be honest. But I'm pretty sure the adjusters are in but wound all the way down. Do you have the same coilovers as I do?
Ah right, it probably was a fault with the one you got then. Shame because I quite like them.
I just put a note in the comments section with my cliosport.net club member number and asked for the discount. They then reimbursed the 10% at a week(ish) later :)
Ah that sucks :/ did you try just pushing the deflectors out of the way and putting your window up? That's essentially what I did...
Thanks :) I'd recommend fancyplates, plus you get 10% cs discount :) I'm afraid the wind deflectors are team heko ones. They did catch the first time I put the windows up and down but only minimally, haven't really used the car since. To be fair I could put up with them catching the way they...
Thanks for that. Do you know exactly how much work would have to go into it? I don't have any money at the minute so wouldn't be doing it any time soon but it is something I'd like to do at some point.
Got a few more little bits done today.
First of all I got a better picture illustrating the size of the new front plate:
Also got some new SMD sidelights, although I'm not convinced they're any brighter than the old ones
Also took delivery of a battery cover. It came with a bolt but I...
Yeah I think I would have to but I don't want a 172 replica. So I won't be going for the front bumper or wings. If I can find a way to do the side skirts without any other modifications then that'd be something I'd like to do.
Thanks for the comments guys :)
You're right, it would look better with 172 side skirts. However I believe it's a right pain to fit them because I don't have sport front wings. I'll look into it though, thanks for the advice.
