Macks right! Peugeot 307 WRC had 4 speed box in the beginning of the season. Now they have 5 speed again like 206 did.
Although, Rovanpera was racing with four gears almost the whole Cyprus rally. And Gronholm without a clutch.
In my case we had to take out the whole suspension package, and then drilled two holes (each side) to strut tower tops. Im not sure is there enough room to put your hand under the tower (in my case there werent any)... it may depend what suspension you are running. Take the wheel out and try...
My additions to list (in brief) : Cam seals, oil pumps are sh*te (my mate has broken two of them, in short period!), crankshaft seals, auxilliary shaft (runs the oil pump in early F7 series engines) seal. Clutch seems to last forever though!
But actually cars in general break all...
OK, got it... and no i dont want to see tractor revving 8k :D
So basically im one on a safe side cos my motor revs about 7000, and there is lightened conrods (for example), forged pistons and ARP bolts everywhere...?
Ok, thanks folks. I think ill go for the Castrol Response. Anything i should look after when changing from 5.1 to 4. Some kind of flush needed perhaps? Or is it ok to bleed all the old stuff away and pour new in? Ive had same fluid for a year now so it is no wonder that brakes are not performing...
Just interested what kind/brands of brake fluid people are using?
About to change cos brakes are not performing very well now. I am using AP Racing four pots in front, standard in rear. Is there any point of using DOT 5.1? Like i do now...
Cheers.
Yup, school boy error. Thats what they said too... With a red coloured face. Good thing is that they admitted such a silly mistake. Someone else maybe wouldnt...
Thats why it was free of charge. ;)
Ford imperial blue. I had Zetec-s Fiesta in my previous life and that colour caused lots of discussion with strangers at the parking lots. Great colour!
Thanks!
but mate, it wasnt so simple case (just untensioned belt). But best thing is that its running now better than ever. :D And when i was watching my engine in pieces (at their garage) im sure u didnt enjoy what you did... especially when it was your first time.
Yep, car is back on track.
Hard to explain what happened, but ill try: cambelt wasnt slipping, it was perfect. But the problem was one tiny shaft/bolt which is used to connect pulley to camshaft. When engine started, only pulley was rolling, not the camshaft itself. As said, that caused it to...
I paid fortune of a supersprint manifold and my mate got better results with factory original Clio 16v F7P manifold bolted to F7R engine, so thats why i think its waste of money. Looks cool though...
Sounds very strange mate. When speaking from left side, as i said, there wasnt any difference between r19 and willy, or if there was, its something that eyes cant see (and something you cannot measure). And im quite sure the right one is also from R19 in my W cos looking at the bill when it was...
Yup mate, its nice to blow off todays GTIs with a ten year old bucket...
My engine had complete rebuild and after that bit of a headwork by rally specialist, forged pistons, fast road cams, chip, supersprint manifold and cat-back. And got dyno tested 186hp/220Nm (calculate Lbs yourself ;)) BUT...
Ok, i just meant that material itself can be welded... but im sure you know your mate better than i do. ;)
Never been on a quarter with Clio, but ive blown off Civic Type-R and 190hp A4 quattro with it, from a standing traffic light start (and few miles of motorway after that) . And the Civic...
Yea, cannot understand. If you have r19 wshbone and r19 driveshaft, it just should bolt on and thats about it. I thought original Renault wishbones come with balljoints? Anyway, the balljoint is not causing the problem here. There must be some wrong part theyve provided. As far as i know the...
No, not yet, but promised to keep me updated... They just did a compression test, and took the engine out, going to open it tomorrow morning or something... I said that they dont have to hurry cos its not my only car.
He was just guessing (same as you Jay did) that its the cambelt jumping...
Yeah, they said that their work is always guaranteed. So now the only bad thing is that i have to live with my Peugeot 206 and not having fun around with Clio... I just hope that its only the valves bent, cos i do not want to wait new pistons from US.
Oh BTW Andy, thanks for the tip... most...
Actually ecu was one thing to suspect. Rally team guys are coming to collect the car and they were very sad, cos it just had left their garage. But they promised to put it back together and free of charge, if it was something involved with work they have did. I will tell you what was it in...
