I haven't looked at car tyre prices recently so I'm unsure if the 'inflation' is the same as to what I am seeing with the van tyres!

I've had 172 cups and used a 182 for a bit, and then had the 197.
172 and 182 great on fuel for what they are, and not bad drivers at all.
197 lovely drive, better handling, better brakes , soooo comfy with the Recaros but underpowered and crap on fuel in comparison.
Swings and roundabouts...
Ive got a rusty Mk5 GT Tdi.
Had it 18 months originally as a runaround.
Rusty wings, rusty sills, rusty boot, but it was remapped and had a lot of other new bits in the last 3 years like starter, battery, alternator etc. I had to get the belts done though as it looked like it was going to snap...
Remember the one I used for Sprints and Hillclimbs. That had done over 170k miles, was bog standard and when I put it on the rollers out of curiosity at efi it still had 160bhp.
Serviced and belts done it wouldn't bother me.
Depends whether you want it for competition or just as a track car.
Competition then need through dash due to rule change.
Track car then dash dodger perfectly fine
Brothers misses is thinking of selling her 197 Cup
2007, 134k miles, white, 200 rear diffuser, black alloys, 2 new PS4 tyres on front, 25mm spacers, scorpion exhaust with extra silencer.
Powerflex engine mounts, standard engine.
Recaro seats had new covers, gaiter and wheel retrimmed, dab cd...
I originally looked at hiring to do IOM but just built a new car instead. At least with buying or building a car you should always still have value in it when you move on. Think if i was going again i would look at a quick 1400 something as cars generally closer in the class. As soon as you go...
Ph1 cable throttle body has a different pitch to a Ph2 fly by wire throttle body, and the top inlets are different. I used a ph1 inlet, and machined an adaptor plate to fit a ph2 throttle body.
Cobra Monaco are awful cheap uncomfortable seats. I bought a road rally car that came with them and I did 1 event and half way through the rally i was numb. They were out and gone the next day.
HRX seats are still my favourite. Had the HRX Racers in the Clio and even codriver after 3 day event also commented how comfy they were.

In the past i had Cobra Imola 2 seats for years until the seat date thing came in for rallying, but I didnt find the newer Cobra seats...
What was wrong with using a standard plastic tank with a decent guard? Seems a lot of faff just to use an alloy tank which takes up spare wheel access and has a higher centre of gravity at the rear rather than a low cog in the middle??
