I'm guessing disconnect battery before cutting ? And just cut off the plug from the new seats and solder wires together, but how do I know which colour wires from the car go to which wires on the seat?!
I'm currently in the process of removing the front seats from my 172 cup and fitting the half leather seats.
Got the bolts undone no problem but just need some help with the wiring!
Do I just cut through the wires? And what do I need to connect back onto the new seats?
New seat
It's more the damp that's bothering me tbh, had a look at the seal around the rear passenger window doesn't look great. and top corner of windscreen has peeled up a little. Are these easy to fix?
Cheers for the links, and yeah has been sitting on driveway for a couple of months already. Probly be sat for a couple more while I get it sorted for mot. After that it will be more intermittent use I guess and will use it when I get the chance!
Looking for some advise/ideas
My car rarely gets used at the moment since getting a new company van. Looking for advise on best ways to store the car avoiding common problems. Ideally the car would be sat in a garage but I don't have acces to one. Im looking at getting a decent cover? Any one...
Def not tyre pressures.. But I'll be honest my car really doesn't get used much atall these days. Having said that MOT time is coming up very soon so I need to give the car a once over so may have some more info soon!
Cheers bud, that gives me plenty to have a look at!
Hi mate, not really had a chance to have a look yet! I don't use the car very often now as I have a work van so the cup gets left on the drive :( I will have a look myself this week and if I get no where pop it into a garage to get it looked...
So I've made a start, gone from completely standard to this so far....
Painted engine cover (wasn't sure whether to put this on or not!) fuel rail cover and inlet.
I have now made a start! Will post pictures tomorrow of how's it's looking at the moment, will probly take the inlet back off and clean and paint the rocker cover as didn't really take much notice of how much you see it until I started painting other bits!
Just stripped off the upper and lower inlets and the fuel rail gaurd ready for cleaning and painting!
Looking for ideas/inspiration on inlet colours and engine cover colours (or leave engine cover off?!)
Looking to tidy the whole engine bay so....
Show me what you've got!
Hi guys,
I have read a few bits about similar problems so sorry if it's been said before!
The steering is ok when driving around normally, no noises or heaviness. But when you slow right down to turn around or parking the steering goes really heavy, if you Rev the engine it frees off. However...
ive got some grips on it and to be fair it does feel a bit jumpy like the thread is siezed and plastic spinning.. im soaking in in wd40 this morning and will have another go once im home from work! if no joy i guess cutting the plastic off to get grips directley on thread would surely be the...
ive seen a million threads saying the aerial on a mk2 should just unscrew from the base. My one wouldnt move so i sprayed it with wd.. it now turns and turns and turns but wont come out!

Looking for peoples opinions....

Also the wheels were sold to a middle aged man, a very strange middle aged man to be fair! But to be honest id have paid someone to take them away!
black ariel is also on the list.. this one doesnt even work tbh get very poor signal! im guessing they just screw off?
This was how my car looked when I first brought it, I hated it but could see the potential! had it nearly 2 years now and much much happier with the look of the car :)
And now.....
Orderd the parts just after Christmas and fitted them yesterday, only been out the car twice but happy with it. Not massively noticeable when driving 'normally' but sounds awesome when you put your foot down!
One question (and may be a stupid one!) I see a few people have tied the pipe to stop...
Hello all,
I have just lowerd the cup 40mm all round and the next step is spacers...
I have standard cup turinis and was wondering what spacers look/fit the best. And do i need different ones for the front and rear?
Cheers Stuart
