Had absolutely nothing to do today so washed the car and just took some pictures.. nothing planned or new but to keep it clean.. (Rear ARB and mats possibly) Aside from that, the car is .. Happy now.
Just a few pictures with the DSLR:
Thanks for reading :)..
Nothing inparticular atm.. just wanted to restore the oem stuff first and get the car working properly etc..
The car drives alot better than when i first got it. No so much the engine or performance etc, more the handling and build, rattles etc.
Changing the overall...
Thanks for the comment :) The exhaust is indeed from Ktec, sits very nice under the arch. Unfortunately, the exhaust was already on the car so i dont know whether they cut the bumper or not.
Car looks great. nice to see other clios in Surrey as i have recently purchased one myself and have seen no one from around here lol.
keep up the good work
Had a good few hours of cleaning and detailing today and the car is clean!
Looking back, ive only had this for for just over a month and already have fixed alot of the problems.. very happy with the result as the car feels much better than the initial pick up when purchasing the car.
ANyway...
Had a productive weekend and found the leak cure and allowed the car to test for result of the cure etc.. Anyway, decided to put the interior back in as unlike my old ek9, the clio, for me, is a much nicer place with the interior in :)
Finally with all the bolts and clips in the right place...
Had a friends cousin that carbon wrapped.. and seeing as this car is on a budget.. he kindly offered to help me do the plastics on the outside and help me with the water leak search also.
Took him only a day to help me do some parts, and seeing as my spoiler got delivered along with my parcel...
. . Anyway, for those who still have the problem... the water is coming from the underneath plastic flaps at the top of the bonnet. Couldnt get any good pictures as it was dark... but i took some pictures today to show where the water drips from inside.
There is a hole in an oval shape...
Funny enough.. the weather picked up and no rain came down since the clocks went forward.. o.O.. so decided to wash the car and see whether it was water coming from the inside or the heater/air con pipes dripping....
was going to wax and finish the tyres.. but noticed water coming...
Due to the bad weather, my car has developed a wet floor on the drivers side footwell mainly and the rear drivers side floor ..
so... out came the interior (was gonna strip it to have a look and clean anyway ;) but it was perfect timing to get all the dirt, maintenance and gunk out.
Out came...
Had the key fob fail on me recently and so looked through the forum (very useful!) and found out that, by removing the button itself on the circuit board and re - soldering it, the button will work perfectly once again :)
Work in progress
Anyway, here are the updates so far.
The tyres were budget (Wanli) so i decided to get the Rainsport 2 tyres
Car doesnt oversteer for no reason anymore :)
Just resets lugged a code reader and reset it and the light has gone, with no blue smoke etc.. Flagged up with a lambda sensor. Could just be minor fault. Will post again if it flags up again.
lol.. coming from hondas, the coilover has the top mounts as a unit and has 2 bolt holding the coloiver so that there is no play. the spinning is obvious ;).. but the elevation really made me ??o.O
thank you for the reply. put my heart at ease :)
Have recently acquired a solid EML on the clio 172.
The car has a lumpy idle, pops and bangs alot at high revs and has blue smoke.
This has only just happened recently. (1 week)
Just as a quick check list (dont have a code reader atm)
- Both lambda sensors?
- Spark plug
- Ht leads
- Coilpack
...
I was just wondering whether someone could answer a very quick question for me regarding the oem rubber mounts and coilovers set up.. is the top mounts suppose to spin and elevate slightly when turning full lock to the left or right?
thanks
Just over a month ownership of the clio now.. Started to really appreciated the character of the car till...
- Damp footwell
- Broken Key fob (Re soldered the button ;) all fixed :))
- Misfiring (Has ktec remap) but now running rich.. looking for solutions currently?!?!
Bought a few parts...
Dont get budgets, im a new cliosport owner and budget caused me to get oversteer (Rainsports at the front and Wanli 'budget' at the rear) i have all four corners on rainsports now and the cars is balanced and handles how its suppose to.
Thanks mate,.. i still miss the ek9 and was tempted to buy another, but for me, the car is getting on now and i had my one for over 3 years.. the clio is more modern and a new experience of car :)
Anyway, the Ep3 was very thirsty.. when driven hard, the petrol would just drop.. 270 miles was at...
Have owned the ep3 type r, Ek9 type r and the clio 172.
Clio and ek9 definitely get at least 330 plus mile on a full tank with the ep3 getting 270 miles.
i reset the trip computer after every tank and it gives a pretty good accurate reading.
Hi,
Just purchased my first, 02 plate Iceberg Silver Renaultsport Clio 172.
After owning Japanese cars since getting my license, i thought id have a change especially after the disappointing ownership of the very soft Ep3 type R.
Anyway, Just recently came back from working abroad and came back...
