My wee Clio was doing well right up till the point i got humped by a GTR :/ It still did me proud :)
went out and swapped the belt on the idler pull so its going over and seams to have solved the problem, i will get a new tensioner in the near future, cheers for the reply guys :)
Ahhh theres my issue right there, put the belt on the wrong side of the idler, unfortunately the old belt shredded so wasnt able to tell how it comes off.
Found a thread on here that has a picture of the drive belt, just want to verify its the correct route...
Finally managed to get my idler pulley and drive belt fitted after many swear words and coming up with a crazy contraption to pull the spring back, only to find out there appears to be a slight problem, the belt it hitting of the tensioner on the left hand side. dunno if it'll settle of what. no...
Cheers for the reply guys, finally managed to find a picture of a clio ph1 with the idea im thinking of doing, want to make sure its do-able without to much hassle as id hate to mess it up.
Was considering buying a set of duel optic ph1 headlights, splitting them and painting the chrome inners to black, anyone done this and how easy is it to do?, does it effect the light quality atall?
Cheers
Yea that's pretty much what happens. It's orite if I'm sitting still and I rev it. But saying that while I was stripping it down to do the drive belt I found out the engine mount on the drivers side is in two bits. But feels more serious. Tho I'll try replacing that and see what happens. Cheers...
Not a massive expert on the drivetrain side of things to do with cars, cant tell if the driveshafts are away or not. Problem is with taking it to a garage is the car is bit just now while i fix other problems and was gonna do this at the same time if that makes sense. it goes into gears fine and...

Well after some amount of fart arseing about the car is sitting in bits trying to find out the reason to it totally destroying the drive belt and came across a couple interesting things
How the car is sitting now :(
Hi, this is a mega long shot but does anyone in the area have a alternator belt i could buy for a 2000 plate 172, needing my car back on the road today, any help would be appreciated, thanks
Cheers, the bumper will be getting looked at after i get the mechanical side of things sorted, might be easier to replace the bumper/wing as someones been at it with self tappers :S
Yea it is clean enough looking wise apart from the bumper ofcourse, but hoping to get it fixed in the near future as its really the only cosmetic flaw in the car :)
Cheers all, yea the exhaust hanging right is on my very long list of things to sort lol. Was through Bonybridge way on Saturday picking up a couple bits for the Clio :)
Cheers everyone for the replys about parts, have a feeling i'll be contacting you guys alot lol.
I did think about the idea...
Thanks for the welcome, looks to be a few people near me, looking forward to any local up and coming meets. would also like to find somewhere local that's breaking a clio or 2
Cheers, yea bought it from livingston about 3 months ago, not sure if the car would be recognised on here or not as there's a cliosport.net sticker on the rear window
