Cheers Dan..im going to do this tomorrow.......weather permitting!!
Re: Compression Test - What's the easiest way to dissable the injection and ignition
My Dorris can pull the fuse... lol. I'm looking for 190psi or more with not more than a 5% variance between all 4 cylinders right guys ?
Re: Compression Test - What's the easiest way to dissable the injection and ignition
Cheers bud so the bottom left fuse in your pic? Will it trigger an engine management light? Also will pulling the ecu connector off the coil pack dissable the plug leads to ?
Guys, I want to do a dry compression trust on the wife's 172 cup (ph2). Whats the simplest way to dissable the fuel injection and ignition systems ?? Take ecu plug off coil pack to isolate the ignition ?? What about the injection?? :)
Can anyone pop round to my house near sharston near manchester airport to let me hear their phase 2 172/182 tick over? I'm sure my wife's 172 cup has a miss fire on tick over but she is certain it sounds like all other 1*2's she's heard run!! Can you help??
I retract the previous statement as the missfire is back. I took off the Crankshaft Position sensor and the metal tip is rusted to hell.......the Ebay replacement part sent is wrong so I filed the tip of the sensors end and reinstalled it.........missfire still there peeps................. its...
I know how great french hot hatches can be but the unreliability and illogical designs properly muck me off!! Let hope its sorted soon.... as I need to fix my GT-R which although usually totally reliable (I built it) has developed an electrical fault!!
Cheers Andy. Im not too fussed about fitting the new design with gold contacts...I just want to fit a brand new sensor so i can discount that as the problem. The second hand injectors and fuel rail have arrived this am. All injectors look fine and the o-rings are ok too so ill lube them up with...
Ive just bought this.....Ok its not an OEM one but it should do the job.....I only hope it fits onto my cars loom and doesnt require the "new" Style conversion harness from the Renault Stealer.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221264094412?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1274wt_1170
Cheers Swede...im hoping that is in an injector. As the TDC Sensor was only cheap ive ordered one of those too..........as soon as my secondhand set of injectors arive I will ultrasonically bath them, check the two O-Rings are good...lube them up and throw them in.............lets see how that...
Ive been told the Crankshaft Sensor before. Any chance someone can post up a pic of said sensor so i can spy it on the end of the crankshaft...lol??? Cheers
On the topic of RC Car p**n....im needing one of these in my life...http://www.maxspeedtechnology.co.uk/fs-01d-front-motor-4wd-drift-car-chassis-silver.html
True.............but would it not cause a missfire that was constant? What range of pressure should each cylinder be showing and ill test them tomorrow???
I worried about the no compression issue and havent tested but why would the missfire go worse when I installed the new plugs then go better (But still there) when I replaced the HT leads? I would have thought a miss due to low compression (Worn rings) would be constantly the same and would also...
Guys,
My wifes newly aquired 02 172 Cup had a really really distinct but fient missfire on tickover and if held at a set revs position. Having looked through the cars service history it had recently had a plug change for some pants non NGK items so i replaced the plugs with the correctly gapped...
Lol...... flipping the V's at the FPOS.... its already spent more time in bits than on the road and despite fitting new plugs, ht leads it still has the slight miss fire at tick over.... so tomorrows coil pack time closely followed by a set of cleaned and calibrated injectors. After fitting the...
lol....good banter guys...cheers. When I say racing the skyline I have never entered in a series as such, just track days and RWYB sessions. To be honest im scared of breaking the dammn thing!!
Turbos are great but i just cant justify spending twice the value of the car on a...
Thanks for the info guys. The cost to get to a "Constant" 200BHP is why I think we will leave the engine fairly standard and fit a 50 shot of progressively controlled NOS......to be used when we really need the extra power. Having spend silly silly silly money on the GTR the clio isnt going to...
