Hope not :( ££££££££s to repair. I've ordered a new glow plug control module. Guessing the plugs would need to get hot to ignite the fuel first touch of the key, hot or cold. I think I'm starting the car just on compression and heat build up from the long cranking. Hope so. This car was a good...
I've been under my 100 today looking for the TDC sensor. I took the undertray off and looked everywhere but couldn't find it. It's not at 12 o'clock on the bellhousing like other Clios. Where exactly is it? The problem I'm trying to cure is hard starting needing 2 long cranks on a hot or cold...
Count the teeth and buy the correct ring on e-bay for about a fiver. You can DIY but a garage will charge about an hours labour to do it if you're not sure. Don't go to a Renault garage as they will tell you that you need a complete new driveshaft and that the rings can't be got on their own !
Press the end of the wiper stalk and it will move to the trip meter. Then press the button under the milometer to reset to zero. Press the end of the wiper stalk repeatedly and it will go through the functions, reset to zero as before.
No, not remapped, don't feel the need. This little car is more than adequate to play with (and sometimes embarrass) the big boys. Lots of low down grunt and go kart handling :)
I got my DCi 100 with 140k miles on it too. I got full service history with it but I'm still working through it, refreshing everything. Smoke when you boot it is common and has been dicussed at length on here. I had it and I've changed the fuel filter, EGR valve and put some injector cleaner...
But you could see "entering power safe mode"? So something's happening. Try tapping F8 as it boots up and see if you can get the boot options to come up (it's usually F8 on most computers). If you can, choose "last configuration that worked" and see if you can get it to boot properly. :)
Mine was doing the same. A new EGR valve seems to have cured it. £60 on E-bay exactly the same as the old one. Easy DIY swap. Didn't bother with cleaning it as it was 10 years old and done 140k miles so was, probably, needing replacing. I've put a pot of Wynns injector cleaner in this week...
Sounds like a duff battery. Halfrauds will test it and fit a new one in a few minutes, if needed, so no point in faffing around with a dodgy battery :)
Before you do/spend anything check the connector to the motor (the black and red wires in the pic) is good and clean. That's how I fixed my non-working fan some time ago and it's still going strong :approve:
Mine's as filthy as yours! Going to clean it tomorrow as the forecast is good. Be just as dirty again by Tuesday, though. Just can't keep it clean this time of year
Sounds like the motors gone. Cheap used ones on Ebay. Just be sure to get the right one, you know what it looks like now and you know how to swap it :)

Try this first. If it's the problem then it's a free, easy fix. :)

The first picture in this thread is what mine looks like. The red and black wires going down from the resistor multiplug under the fan housing go to the connector. Follow them down to the plug and with...
I had exactly this problem over the last few weeks and fixed it by cleaning up the connector that goes to the blower motor from the resistor. With the ignition on reach down and wiggle this connector about. If the fan works while you're wiggling then that's the problem. If you have a Haynes...
Do people really buy a new set of winter tyres for the few days of bad weather we get each winter? It only seems to be the last few years that this comes up around this time. I know it's the law in some countrys that get proper winters but do you really need them here? I've never bothered and...
I'm finding mine very "needy". There's always something needing attention. Just sorted the dodgy heater blower and still on the to do list is the EGR valve and rear disks and pads. But I do love driving this car. It's like a high maintenance French mistress, a great ride that needs a lot of...
That was an easy fix! :D Turned out to be a bad connection at the plug that goes to the fan motor. I wiggled it with the ignition on and the fan worked fine. I got the blower assembly out, turned out easier than it looks, and cleaned the contacts and put a bit of WD40 on. Working fine on all...
My heater fan has decided to play up. It sometimes comes on for a bit then stops again and makes a knocking sound when it does run. It also speeds up and slows down, like it's struggling. I guess I need to replace the fan unit. How do I get it out? Guess there's an easy way, but I don't want to...
