I have just completed a timing belt and water pump change on a 94 ford escort 1.6 lx.
this is given me an idea, why not attempt the timing belt on the clio?
if i order tools required, is it really that difficult? i know the space will be tight, but patience should pay off.
Whats your thoughts?
The car has been remapped.
so you say eventually i will be back to square one having replaced the cat because of the olive joint? what do i put in place of the olive joint?
Happy new year to everybody :)
i got a scorpion exhaust fitted and as soon as it was fitted, when i go above 5K RPM it whistles, sounds like its coming from under passenger area,
it still has a cat and i want to get it decatted, would this solve it ?
Regards.
Ive just fitted the same exhaust to my 182. mine fits alrite, i had to loosen the clamp and pull the backbox away from the rear beam as it was hitting it when going over bumps. I have replaced the rubber in the back box mounts to powerflex rubber mounts and drilled custom holes in them to align...
I jacked the car up today and undone the clamp connecting the back box to the centre section and slid the exhaust back away from the rear beam, its still close to beam but its not going to rub now when weight added to car. So hopefully all is well now :)
Hi all,
just had a scorpion exhaust fitted and the back box is hitting off the rear beam, i have taken a look under the car and there is hardly any gap what so ever between the back box and the rear beam.
what is the problem and the fix?

Got my scorpion exhaust fitted to the car from the standard exhaust, what a difference!

I bought today a T-cut headlight restoration kit and microfibre clothes and gave my headlights a go. To be honest it hasn't done an awful lot, i was very impressed. So ive ordered this in the hope its going to do a better job.
